Anyone traveled with MEA: Do you know if the 158 cm checked-bag limit is strict?
I already have a suitcase at home that measures 163 cm total (L+W+H), so it’s 5 cm over MEA’s 158 cm limit. Its weight is safely under the 23 kg limit.
If you’ve traveled with MEA, have you ever been charged extra for being just 5 cm over? Post Author: /u/No-Wing-9129 Content Warning: None
Place that removes MacBook Icloud lock
Hello everyone, I recently found a MacBook pro we had in an office but it is icloud locked. Unfortunately there's no way to find the apple id or the password. Is there anyone within Beirut that can bypass the lock and reset the laptop. How much does it cost on average. Post Author: /u/ws2003 Content Warning: None

Hi everyone! I’m planning to visit Lebanon for two weeks for a vacation and I’d really appreciate some advice from people who know the country well.
What areas/cities do you recommend staying in?
What are the must-visit places in Lebanon?
What local food and restaurants should I absolutely try?
Are there any beautiful nature spots, beaches, mountains, or hidden gems that tourists usually miss?
Is it better to rent a car or use taxis/other transportation?
I’m looking for a good mix of culture, food, nature, beaches, nightlife, and local experiences rather than just the typical tourist attractions.
If you’ve visited Lebanon recently, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your approximate spending for 2 weeks and any recommendations. Thank you! 🇱🇧❤️ Post Author: /u/IronAtlas99 Content Warning: None
Burj El Murr, the Concrete Giant That Still Haunts Beirut’s Skyline
Burj El Murr was originally envisioned as one of Beirut’s tallest and most modern office towers, paralleling the city’s rapid economic growth and modernization during the early 1970s. However, when the Lebanese Civil War erupted in 1975, construction came to an abrupt halt, leaving the massive concrete tower permanently unfinished. Because of its exceptional height and strategic location overlooking central Beirut, armed groups occupied the building and used it during civil war (similarly to the nearby Holiday In) as an important observation point and sniper position throughout the conflict. Decades after the war ended, the abandoned tower continues to join modern towers in the domination of Beirut’s skyline. Its enormous concrete structure remains clearly visible from almost every part of the city, standing as one of Beirut’s most recognizable landmarks and a haunting reminder of both the city’s pre-war ambitions and the destruction that followed. How was it possible for an Israeli Jew to be born in Lebanon from Israeli parents?
Hi guys, I have an historic/political question.
Here in Italy there's this guy, Gad Lerner, who was born in Beirut from Israeli parents (his father was born in a kibbutz in Haifa, his mother was born in Tel Aviv). Lerner was born in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1954.
Lebanon and Israel weren't really friends in 1954 (I don't mean that now u guys are), but I wonder, how was it possible for two israelis to move to Lebanon and have a child there?
Hope you guys can solve my doubt. Have a good day! Post Author: /u/Krusader_03 Content Warning: None

Fulfilled a Long Dream of Singing Atini Nay Wa Ghanni Live
Shared this in r/Lebanese, thought I should share it here too.
I've been singing since high school. One of the first songs I knew I wanted to sing live one day was Atini Nay Wa Ghanni, it's my favorite song by Fairuz and one of my favorite songs in the world. I finally got my chance this past weekend and wanted to share the performance with people who I know can appreciate it (please be gentle with your criticisms lol). The picture cuts out in the middle of the video, problem with the file itself, but the audio is there all the way through.
Singing this was the most emotional experience in my career as a singer for so many reasons. I feel like I achieved something I've been working towards since I was maybe 19 years old. Apart from how far I've come as a singer, my grandmother also was a terrific singer and I wish she was still alive to hear me now. I also miss Lebanon and worry about its future (as well as that of my family) and how much worse shit will get and how I'm part of the problem simply by living in USA. With all of that in mind, presenting the music of Fairuz and words of Khalil Gibran to an American audience felt like singing Edelweiss. As a member of the Lebanese diaspora I'm always eager to share the culture with people, but it never felt quite like the night I sang this. Post Author: /u/Rayan11a Content Warning: None

I finally figured out how to pull all my solar inverter data into an sqlite database and I made some nice graphs out of them about solar production over time.
The system has 12 solar panels 600 watts, the most it ever produces as per this report was was 6680 kwh in August. The caveat is unless we are consuming this much power, the solar panels will not produce that much. So solar production numbers is not just about the weather, it's also about spend(but it is mostly the weather) Post Author: /u/mr_j936 Content Warning: None

Traveling from Lebanon with creatine and medication
I’m traveling from Lebanon to Georgia soon and was wondering about the rules for bringing supplements and medication into Georgia.
Can I bring a container of creatine powder in my luggage, or could customs confiscate it?
Also, does anyone have experience bringing regular medication or other supplements into Georgia from Lebanon? Are there any specific restrictions or documents I should be aware of?
Any advice from people who have traveled to Georgia with these kinds of items would be appreciated! Post Author: /u/plays-with-squirrelz Content Warning: None

Ehmej Lebanon
Due to Reddit banning my account, I was unable to post for a couple of days. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Anyways, Ehmej is in the mountains above Jbeil. Its forests, valleys and high elevation made the area useful to people for centuries.
There are remains and archaeological evidence connected with the Roman and Byzantine periods. In particular, Roman roads and inscriptions have been reported in the surrounding forests. Some inscriptions are associated with the reign of Emperor Hadrian. According to the local historical interpretation, these inscriptions indicate that the Roman authorities regulated the use of certain trees and forest resources, showing that the area was considered important.
During the Byzantine period, Christianity became established in the region. Churches and monastic sites were built around the mountains of Ehmej. One important site is associated with St. Saba. Archaeological remains found near the monastery have been dated to the Byzantine period, suggesting that Christian religious activity existed in the area many centuries ago.
So when you see an old church or monastery around Ehmej, it isn't necessarily connected to the modern village community. Some of these sites belong to a much older Christian landscape that existed long before the present-day village took shape.
According to local historical tradition, the present-day community of Ehmej began to take shape in the early 17th century. Families from northern Mount Lebanon particularly associated with the Bsharri region are traditionally said to have settled in Ehmej following political changes around 1612. Over time, additional Christian families settled there and the village expanded.
This is an important distinction:
The land of Ehmej is ancient, but the present-day village community largely took shape in the 17th century.
Why did people settle there?
Ehmej's geography helped protect and sustain a mountain community. It is high in the mountains, surrounded by forests and valleys, while still being connected to Jbeil... Post Author: /u/AlArze Content Warning: None

Italy, UK, Switzerland, Indonesia may participate in pilot zones mechanism
Italy, Britain, Switzerland and Indonesia may participate in a mechanism to verify Hezbollah's disarmament in the so-called pilot zones in south Lebanon, w diplomatic source told Al-Arabiya television.
A Lebanese official had previously confirmed to Reuters that Lebanon and Israel had agreed on a shortlist of countries that could send forces to verify Hezbollah's disarmament under a U.S.-brokered agreement. The U.S. is expected to select the countries from this list.
The official declined to name any of the countries on the shortlist or specify their number. Another Lebanese official and two foreign diplomats had previously told Reuters that Israel and the U.S. had excluded France from the list.
The list was drawn up during meetings held between Lebanon and Israel at the U.S. Embassy in Rome this week, in the latest round of talks on how to implement the June 26 agreement, which links the phased withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon to the disarmament of Hezbollah, to be "verified" by a third party.
The Lebanese official said Beirut had rejected a previous proposal to have private security companies take over the role of the third party tasked with verifying Hezbollah's disarmament. Post Author: /u/Complete-Definition4 Content Warning: None

Where does Mawal come from?
Reading quite a bit on the history of Eastern Mediterranean music and the origins of mawal are quite interesting. There used to be a strong base of mawal in Iraq but Lebanese singers such as Wadi Safi and Najwa karam have made it popularised by Lebanese artists. What are the origins of this music style and where would it be most associated with? Post Author: /u/StockPositive2962 Content Warning: None
