CommunityOne Security Alert: Fake Bot & Impersonation

Join Community

Summary

The CommunityOne Builders Help community issued a security alert regarding two impersonation threats: a fake CommunityOne bot and an individual pretending to be a community representative named Louisa. Users are warned to only install the official bot via the website, verifying the checkmark and user ID, and to be wary of anyone DMing them about market conditions or asking them to click suspicious links. This announcement is crucial for protecting members from scams, malware, and financial fraud...

Safety Announcement:

(1) There was an incident last night where someone made a fake communityone bot. If you are considering installing our bot, the safest approach is to do so through our website.

If there is no checkmark right next to "APP", it is a fake bot. If there is a check, check the user ID.

Otherwise, use your common sense; the Internet can be a dangerous space. We do not threaten you in DM or use any shady tactics.

(2) There have been more incidents involving someone pretending to be me personally. The latest account has a username louisa1000_. It has been DM people asking them about market conditions. If in doubt, check this message to ensure it has the correct user ID.

It also goes without saying that our team does not endorse any financial instruments. If someone tells you to click on this to get rich quickly, don't do it!

Finally, please do not open any files and run everything through VirusTotal (Google it!) before clicking or opening anything from strangers.

Here is the official bot ID: 1069423090225918082
Here is my user ID: 851179040428654623
