Skylar would be driving the boat, quickly parking it somewhere near the Zone before walking up to the place with Athena, it was night now and she had a shard of the master emerald in her hands and she couldn’t help but stare at it..she could of had two right now if she had just— gone for it..but even she’s not that stupid.

“Alright, so what’s so special about this place anyways Athena? There some sort of place we can hide out here?”

It was cloudy at the moment, so the night sky was hard to see through the clouds as Skylar looked up, she had taken her metal umbrella with her this time and— it might occur to Athena now..but Skylar is carrying a full metal umbrella that actually functions with little to no effort at all..

“Can’t even see the sky..freak from the city must’ve fucked up the weather all across the world..” {S}

“Let’s just say the umbrella was made only after some convincing of a very stubborn individual..”

She looks to Admin, great..it’s one of the morons that was there fighting with Enerjak. Maybe they aren’t losing their shit now like the others were? But she can’t help but feel tense from that energy, even if it was dormant now..she did not wanna be anywhere near them as her ears lowered. She’d stop Athena as well by holding her hand out in front of her but refused to look Admin’s way, she was not allowing herself or Athena to risk a thing in this moment..not after what they just got away from. Smiling confidently to her despite how she felt, hiding her obvious discomfort..

“Anywho, what’s the gift supposed to be? You gonna tell me or are you still wanting the surprise moment outta me?” {S}

Skylar looks to Athena with a slightly annoyed look, clearly she’s far more cautious than Athena currently since she actually saw what it did..though that’s usually the standard for anything she actually sees as a genuine threat to her or her friends..then she looked back to Admin but said nothing as she just stepped back, pushing Athena foward because Skylar has something in mind to say..

But it’s clear it’s along the lines of “get lost” or “leave us alone” since she’s already not wanting to be near Admin and with the closer he got so did this unnerving feeling caused by the negative chaos energy in their body..she just couldn’t shake it..

• “Well? If you wanna chat with them so bad go ahead. But I don’t like the feeling I get from them..”

Skylar remains stubborn as she glares at Admin clearly still not feeling safe with the fact of everything she did see..which to her credit, it’s not entirely unjustified. The only reason she’s not affected by it is because she’s never used chaos energy before and whatever exposure she had likely died off too fast for her emotions to get the better of her..

“Hmph..”

Crossing her arms she just remains, quiet, to the side of this conversation in a sense. She’s not going to say a word to Admin because she’s trying to gauge if it’s even safe to even be remotely near him! Though she’s not a skeptic all the time she has her moments clearly when she just has absolutely no trust in anything more times than anyone besides close friends could know.. {S}

• “Either way get lost before you go fucking ballistic again..”

She said this under her breath as she simply, did not look towards Admin and instead towards the sky as she was thinking about something.. {S}

With that Skylar just closes her eyes, letting out a heavy sigh

• “Still don’t like being anywhere near that freak..”

She’s not saying this to— well no she is being mean. But she’s more concerned over the energy rather than the person. But with how stubborn she is, she likely will NEVER trust him even if he somehow proved his worth to her..

“But..now that he’s gone..I guess let’s find whatever ya left here.”

She’s not saying much but she seems..annoyed? No that’s not quite it..was she..actually worried that would go south? {S}

Skylar sighs as she fully stops moving, she knows Athena will likely pry at it until she answers and it’s not like it’s something she shouldn’t know about..

“I saw a lot more than just them losing their shit back at station square, saw them being set off like bombs too…if you couldn’t tell, that echidna in the gold armor was forcing them to lose control..and it seemed like he had to use very little effort to do so now that we’re on the matter.”

She looks over her shoulder to Athena as she just, stares for a moment and then looks forward again.

“Just a educated guess, but..that hedgehog could’ve lost control at any moment just then…whether it was due to their emotions or not.” {S}

“Oh whatever Athena, can we talk less about how pragmatic I can be and find whatever you left behind already???”

Yep, Athena got under her skin just like that. She’s done with the topic but clearly trying not to chuckle at the bit of teasing as her tail sways behind her whilst she turns to look back to Athena fully as she places her hand on her hip

“Besides, not like they had a good judge of character for me either! I could tell from whenever they looked at me they were pissed that I stole the shard right from under everyone’s nose…just— never mind let’s just find whatever is here and move on!-“

She tried to restart the topic, per usual, failed, kinda usual, then wanted to move on..like usual. Skylar is— a lot more of a thinker than she likes to admit.. {S}

“Do you have a key or do I gotta melt it?”

This was the first thing she was asking for a reason considering what happened back at central city..she was not sure if Athena just had it on her person or not considering the rush they were in to get away from Enerjak. So it was a genuine question, mostly to clarify what they had to do to get in it..though in all fairness it sounded very rude. {S}

She raises her eyebrow, intrigued about what Athena could’ve possibly hidden here. After all it’s not like Athena to go small on the scale at times unless it’s purely for convince at least to her knowledge..or..parts..that’s also a possibility.

“Made this place more than its size on the surface huh?..”

She’d walk in the elevator standing beside Athena, shoving againts her playfully

She’d stare at this as her mind almost short circuits as she watches the expansive room be revealed as the elevator goes down

Skylar doesn’t know what to say she’s absolutely flabergasted. She could only stare in awe at everything within the new— well new home! It was absurd to her that Athena actually went to such lengths to make ALL OF THIS.

“You..you really don’t ever stop going big do you?…”

She wants to hug Athena, she really does, but she’s afraid of setting her on fire by accident because she’s extremely happy about this despite not smiling outwardly at the moment. But the fire on the ends of her ear and tail sputtering and somewhat intensifying were a good sign of just how happy she was.. {S}

Skylar grabs the key from Athena’s hand as she stares at it, back out towards the new home she’s now been given out of the blue! She’d almost move to hug Athena but, stopped herself, of course..she didn’t wanna thank someone by making burns all over their body sooooo..

“Fuck— uh I mean—…..”

She sighs embarrassed that she still can’t find the words yet, she’s clearly trying to say thank you but her mind was so overwhelmed with the joy for the prospect of finally having a home and a damn good one at that! She wanted to hug Athena, to do something special for her to try and pay her back someday! She just..needed to figure out what she would do!

“I’m paying you back in spades eventually…thanks..”

Skylar is internally cursing herself for such a lackluster display of gratitude what the hell was that?!?!?!?!? SHE CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS WHY DID SHE HESITATE—

“……Athena I don’t even know honestly.”

She just, looks at it all..it’s been so long since she’s even thought about having a place to stay she nearly forgot about the fact she was homeless! Now..she’s..reminiscing. Remembering her old home, the home that had— stood before that terrible, terrible day..and as the memory replays in her mind she smirks, dismissing the thought

“But Y’know what I’ll figure it out! Anywho..I’m not really sure what to do at the moment concerning that..the world is actively in danger and I’m not willing to have a fight with the raging deity—“

She gets a ping on her phone from the news channel and..she’s sees the broadcast..she did watch for a moment but just— turned it off, thinking maybe she shouldn’t watch it right now considering she just got a gift snd all.. {S}

• “Some heroes we have right now..what is even happening that’s keeping them so long???”

She crosses her arms clearly nervous, as right now.lshes barely even seen any faces remotely close to who’d she expect to be acting on the situation! The restoration? Currently on search and rescue..the freedom fighters? Not even a sign of them besides maybe Sonic himself! But then again there’s so many look a likes THAT might not be the case..

“Ok..well, that’s and idea sure..could also decide what to do with the shard too I guess—.”

She remembers the shard of the master emerald she has, thinking about how many there are— Enerjak’s little spree only had 2 shards handed out and clearly he’s using them to try and force people to fight with him for the final shard but..no one is doing anything..then another ping on her phone, once more news stories and social media posts..

“I’m not so certain we have a lotta time to spare on leisure though considering the state of the world right now..” {S}

“Yeah no idea, but I’m not planning to wait for em. The broadcast was showing the same guy from central city..but..something felt a bit off.”

She’d think about it for a moment, looking back to the broad cast momentarily as listening to what Enerjak was saying..timeline..blade..remembered something?…Scratch the rest of it, that blade seemed more important to actually ponder on. But he said it as if it were something that frustrated him?

“Something tells me that not only was that personal for the echidna in all gold, but that they’re also after something else possibly. Just don’t know where to find it..kinda weird for something akin to a god to even care for a blade right?” {S}

“Most of what I’ve seen so far just bounces off of em and I don’t remember anything about a sword that could kill a god.” {S}

“Hey, gotta listen if ya wanna be a good thief ya know?”

She’d say this in irony of herself..she almost NEVER listens to anything unless it actually mattered to her, which is non-negotiable since it involves the world’s fate..

“Plus, considering that this guy destroyed the master emerald..My guess? The chaos emeralds are next so I’d rather go for the next best thing before we’re too late..could also just use the sol emeralds maybe but I dunno if I can actually deal with Blaze the cat of all people..and I doubt she’d even allow anyone else to use them.”

Blaze is— actually someone she admires, lots of people respect her and she has very similar powers to her own. The difference is that Blaze is praised and has such precise control over it while Skylar herself was— a hazard..not even intentionally, her own power was simply a hazard and people judged her for it on that basis alone and named her a criminal..especially since that day no one has even given her a fair chance for her side of things to be explained. Not like they’d believe her anyways after being paid off.. {S}

“Right now we just need options, anything at this rate. We’re running out of time and the more we waste it the less options we’re gonna have if I’ve got the right judgement on the mentality that freak is running on currently..cause they’ve got a whole plan lined out that’s clearly in motion even in the background.”

Skylar ponders for a moment..considering the barriers between dimensions aren’t exactly holding, could there be other artifacts they could bring from other dimensions to thwart this guy? I mean, surely there’s nothing like an inter-dimensional police force right??? There’s just no physical way someone could actually hold up to that role!

“Weeeeeelllll…considering that I’ve— clearly been seeing more Sonic’s through social media than usual, ima take a guess and say we could try other dimensions if we ever figured a way to travel through em.” {S}

“I say this because..literally other versions of the guy have appeared, meaning they got here SOMEHOW I my guess, so there might be ways to other places to.” {S}

“I’ll probably plan something out to do some digging of my own…can’t wait for the end of the world after all, there’ be nothin for me to steal afterward.”

She’d stretch for a moment raising her arms high above her head, pondering on what exactly she can do in this situation. Not only was she considered a criminal, she practically a fucking psychopath when it comes to the media..and her account usually is heavily monitored by multiple entities who either want to hire her or want her behind bars, that or dead.

“Just make sure that Cyanide is alright, I couldn’t care less bout the blue hedgehog right now but my guess is they’re about to do something stupid after seeing that..but, could be wrong and they don’t give a fuck, we’ll see.” {S}
