Nawaf Salam Wins Praise for Lebanon Sovereignty

Résumé

In r/Lebanon, this announcement praises the prime minister’s leadership and argues that critics who called him weak or a Hezbollah sympathizer were proven wrong. It highlights his record on state sovereignty in the post-Ta’if era and also gives credit to the president.

Nawaf Salam gained my respect today.

You know, since he became prime minister, a lot of people used to make fun of him, saying he was weak. Some even called him a leftist or said he was "pro-PLO," whatever that means. They claimed he was bought by Hezbollah or that he was too weak to face anyone and wasn't ready for Lebanon's political scene. But clearly, and I can confidently say this, he is one of the best prime ministers to ever take control of Lebanon in the post-Ta'if era. He is only rivaled by Hariri, and he even superseded Hariri in the files of state sovereignty. It is clear that Nawaf was up to the job, and everyone who doubted him, made fun of him, or even accused him of being a leftist, pro-PLO, or a Hezbollah sympathizer was proved wrong.

Props to the President too.
