On the Neo4j server we announce the launch of LadybugDB, an open-source community fork of KuzuDB focused on simplicity, scale, and semantics. The project prioritizes stabilization, bug fixes, and an ambitious lake house roadmap with transparent community governance. Contributors are invited to star the repo, try the code, file issues, and submit PRs to help build the future of embedded and analytical graph databases.
Excited to share some BIG NEWS from Arun Sharma (aka @coder94)! Following KuzuDB's archiving, many have been exploring paths forward. While I enthusiastically support all community-driven efforts to continue this important work, I'm very happy to see the launch of Ladybug! 🐞

This is a new open-source, community-driven fork, led by Arun Sharma, aiming to evolve KuzuDB into the "DuckDB for graphs." Arun is bringing serious experience (Google, Facebook) to ensure Ladybug aligns Simplicity + Scale + Semantics, with an initial focus on stabilization, bug fixes, and an ambitious roadmap for lake house functionality.
