I’ve been rethinking what it actually takes to achieve success

For all my life & still today, I’ve always been told the way to reach success is good grades —> college —> job
But lately, I’ve seen articles stating that college grads are struggling to find jobs, while some successful people (like big business owners) never followed that path. It kinda makes me rethink…maybe it’s more about building real skills people value than just following the path you’re told to follow.

creators like mrbeast, big time streamers, or tech founders didn’t follow the same traditional route, they built things people enjoy and use every day.

I’m not saying education is useless, but it makes me wonder if there are more better ways to succeed than what we’re usually told.

I agree with your point. I like the idea of doing both college and building your own skills at the same time, it’s the most stable route. If you want to be a doctor, nurse, engineer, or educator it is essential for you to go to college and get a degree. But excluding that, it’s tougher to find a job with just a degree alone.

And not only content creation or starting your own business is the way, but building skills people value such as editing, marketing, fitness coaching, stuff like that no matter what path you choose.

I believe it’s how we go through the motions and just do things to survive, you can’t expect to go to college and expect a high paying job right away anymore. Unless the degree is essential. I think students like me are misled by this idea & that’s how college graduates are struggling to find a job or even get their jobs replaced with higher technology.
