Discord Moderation Tips: AutoMod & Jail System

Summary

CommunityOne Builders Help discusses essential Discord moderation strategies, focusing on built-in AutoMod features and account age verification. The discussion highlights a creative jail system that restricts misbehaving members to a verification channel until they are rehabilitated. This approach helps server owners effectively manage spam and community conduct while maintaining a safe environment.

Whats your recommended moderation set up for both discords built in auto mod features and any additional bots auto mod settings?

The biggest one for me is definitely account age. What I read is that dyno and all the other bots do it, but automod from Discord is the most reliable

also i didn't realize this, but appearantly that u can go to members tab on your Discord and it already automatically flag suspicous account for you

Thanks! I have that sent up. I think im missing some standard settings to better block spam/words mostly

We just set up a Jail system thats cool actually. Any member can react to a post with :report: (emoji reaction then disappears), a report is sent to the staff channels automatically and mods can ban or "send to jail" by clicking a button.
The jailed member cant see any other channels then until they submit a verification application (so they also cant see server members to send dms)
If their application is approved, by clicking 1 button, a mod can unjail them then

thats actually a great idea, i remember there was another server that absically put everyone who is mishaving into jail and they have a lot of re-habilitating campaign befor releaseing them to the gneral chat

it was very funny and highly effective, but i think thos accounts are not scammers, they are more like misbehaving
