Unlocking Natural Foot Strength: Lessons from History

These are some sherpa and seri-Indian feet. There was a poster from the 1880s showing the 👣Indians ready for a long run over cactus, sharp rocks, and long thorns without worries. Soles at bottom are from ship deconstruction workers (India) who walk on sharp steel from cutting torches all day.

Seri Tribe - Historical Barefooting

The Seri tribe developed really strong skin on their feet while walking around in the desert. Their soles were tough enough for their children to play in cactus patches, and for them to walk on sharp stones (such as beds of shale) that even animals avoid.

Weakness & Foot Atrophy

Feet that have always worn shoes are weak and atrophied. Unlike every other body part, podiatrists prescribe "supports" to patch the failing muscles. These slowly make things worse by atrophying muscles even more. The cure is to slowly ease into not wearing shoes. Here is a guide yo some exercises you can do to help your feet. Bear in mind your feet will be very soft and weak at first. You will need to slowly build up muscle and skin density to go barefoot over rubble and broken glass like we do.
