Eze 27:6 Of the oaks of Bashan have they made thine oars; the company of the Ashurites have made thy benches of ivory, brought out of the isles of Chittim.
Oaks = {1} deeply affiliated with the world (Genesis 35:8 - "she was buried beneath Bethel under an oak" [for when oaks die and rot - everything underneath the oak becomes deeply submerged within the earth as the rotting oak tree pushes the soil further down with it]) (Genesis 35:4 And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.) (Ezekiel 6:13 - "under every thick oak, the place where they did offer sweet savour to all their idols.")
{2} sourced with false strength (Amos 2:9 - "he was strong as the oaks") (Zechariah 11:2 - "Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down.") (Isaiah 44:14 - "the oak, which he strengtheneth for himself among the trees of the forest") (Isaiah 1:30 - "ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth")
{3} spiritual whoredom away from Christ (Hosea 4:13 "They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom, and your spouses shall commit adultery.") (Ezekiel 6:13 - "under every thick oak, the place where they did offer sweet savour to all their idols.");
{4} pride and high-minded (Isaiah 2:12-13 "For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low: And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan,") (Zechariah 11:2 "howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down.")
Bashan = {1} fruitful (H1316);
{2} pagan heathen (Deuteronomy 3:3 - "the LORD our God delivered into our hands Og also, the king of Bashan");
{3} smitten until nothing remains because of disobedience (Deuteronomy 3:3 - "the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we smote him until none was left to him remaining.");
{4} fenced with high walls, gates, and bars (Deuteronomy 3:4-5 - "the kingdom of Og in Bashan All these cities were fenced with high walls, gates, and bars")
{5} kingdom of giants (Deuteronomy 3:11 - "Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants.")
"Those that are deeply in the world and have abundant fruit in wickedness - has this fruit in a form of apparent strength - but this form of strength is temporary. This false strength is drawn from pride and highmindedness - as self or other falsehoods are exaulted. Because this false religion of wickedness is so pleantiful and deeply rooted in antiquity - has made this practice and it's following larger than giants, yet we should not replicate their ways for their ways are an abomination to the LORD."
