Apps Everywhere: New User-Installed Apps

:shapes: More Apps in More Places :shapes:

Hey Admins and Mods! Starting June 18, you might notice members of your server bringing new fun, games, and functionality to your space with apps.

We launched a new feature that allows anyone to add apps to their own account, and use them across all of their servers, DMs, and GDMs.

Check out our Help Center article to learn about how you can effectively moderate apps in your server, including:

  • What these apps can (and can’t) do
  • How to set up our new “Use External Apps” permission, available now
  • How we leveled up AutoMod to keep your server safe

Wanna spend some time tinkering? Follow our guide to building your own app!

Stay awesome,
The Discord Team

Guild Tags Arrive: What Admins Need to Know

👀 What's that tag?

Hey Admins and Mods! Starting May 15, it's possible you might notice something new next to some of your members' usernames: ✨ Guild Tags ✨

See a cute little tag next to a member's username or profile? That's a Guild Tag, which indicates someone's membership to a chosen Guild. You can click on this tag to see the Guild profile, and even apply for membership there as well. What this means for you, beloved Admins and Mods, is that if your server's AutoMod is on, it will also check for Guild Tags ☑️

What's a Guild? It's a small, exclusive server that members can apply to join. These servers are tight-knit communities where members can relish in shared identities, hobbies, play styles, and more!

Please note that Guilds are only available to a small number of servers at this time, so not every server has access to this experiment. Additionally, our support team cannot manually add servers to this experiment.

Much love,
The Discord Team

Update: The "Our-Server-Options" Chat Is less prohibiting on new members! New members will now be able to post in these listed chats: General. Meme-chat, Zellonia-chat, Tell-us-about-you, and all of the "Just Relaxing Chats". Let me know what you think and Ill see if I can improve this introductory vibe based on your suggestions.

As a beginning update to our server I have allowed anyone to post in the Announcements and Zellonia Updates tabs. This is to help conversations being when an update occurs and to open the chat for previous update converstations. My next step I am considering is removing/deactivating the "Our-server-options" chat as it seems to just cause the growth of the server to dwindle. Let me know your thoughts, each participant sways my opinion of what to do. Thanks again for being here!

Opt-Out Notice for Discord TOS Arbitration

PS: I got this email template from another server, so while it is recommended to use the NCLC one, this one works too.

To Discord,

I am declining both the agreement to arbitrate and the class-action waiver in the new Discord Terms of Service.

Specifically, I am referring to the new Discord terms of service posted at https://discord.com/terms effective 2024 April 15. I am opting out of the arbitration clause, and I am stating my disagreement to the class-action waivers, per section 14 "Settling disputes between you and Discord".

Consider this an unequivocal statement that I wish to opt out of the arbitration clause and the class-action waiver in the Discord Terms of Service. My account information is as follows:

Username:

Email:

Please update your records accordingly.

Best regards,

Action Required Discord Arbitration Opt-Out

Hello, I hope everyone's day is going well.

This only applies to people in the US or people with a US password.

Discord has decided to implement an arbitration clause, which basically prevents you from taking any sort of legal action against Discord. If you don't opt out before the 30th of April, you will not be protected by law and therefore have to privately settle anything that happens with the company.

You can opt out by emailing [email protected] using the NCLC template, which is pretty simple.

You never know what can happen, so it is highly recommended to do this.

Stay safe.
