Updated
Thank you brother for all these. Very helpful.
She's one of those who has a lot of truth mixed with error, so a lot get fooled by her. But no she's not a sound teacher.
No that is Sarah Young I think
Or maybe it is. Meyers has written tons of books
But Sarah Young wrote Jesus Calling. She also needs to go on this list
Yes. The volume of bad devotionals written for women is astounding.
Another good one
Although I've never known a Christian or seen one in this community who followed him
Which is weird
My previous pastor is a spiritually abusive control freak
Ugh. Honestly I'm getting very annoyed watching these videos.
Not at you. lol. I know why people fall for this junk but I don't think I'll ever fully understand.
Added thank yo!
Or they have itching ears. I think I know the biblical answers, but it's hard to wrap my head around it. It's disturbing. Know what I mean?
I should basically say anyone on TBN. 😂
If our community is any indication, prosperity heresy is on the decline; various forms of mysticism, gnosticism, and deliverance heresies are on the rise.
This is so utterly disgusting.

Steven Furtick has been added under the "Prosperity / Word of Faith / New Apostolic Reformation" category. Also this video is quite possibly the best and most accurate documentary on Steven Furtick to date.

Torah obedience is also growing in popularity. Who are some good ones to add for that?
Hey's definitely a false prophet
Did you watch the video?
The best false prophets always mix truth with error.
It doesn't have to claim a requirement of salvation to be false prophecy or unbiblical teaching.
That's definitely unbiblical
Highly unbiblical

Yes read the article
Doesn't matter what we think. It matters what God says.
Depends on what you mean by megachurch
Haha like how big. For example the churches of men like Sproul and Piper are quite large and both are pretty sound.
The problem with that is it would mean every Christian is an apostle, since we are all technically "messengers." But the bigger issue is that context determines the correct meaning of a word, not just the word itself. And in a biblical context, "apostle" is never used in a general sense. It's always used to refer to a specific office with specific requirements. That office has ceased to exist.

I imagine his views will get more and more wild as he has to intensify things to keep people entertained/attracted.
That's not a bad idea actually
Added Robertson and fixed the link for Savchuck
It's all good. I've been a little under the weather plus trying to catch up on some other work.
On one hand, it's hard to believe that anyone, including non-Christians would follow these silly egotistical people who have virtually no regard for God's Word. On the other hand, they are very entertaining to the flesh, and they provide experiences of the flesh which many lacking discernment mistakenly confuse with experiences of the Spirit. These types tend to burn super-hot like a sparkler at first but then quickly fizzle out because their foundation isn't one of longevity.
All explained in the linked videos
If you can let me know which one I can find a replacement.
thanks i'll find replacements tomorrow
Thanks for that. I gave your Trusted Advisor role more rights so you should be able to make the change yourself if you want. Otherwise I will get to it shortly.
done
I have no particular affinity toward this youtuber, but there would need to be actual substantial proof of this to consider outright avoiding this person. I have watched several videos and they are fine.
Actually no I wouldn't say that
I think satire/sarcasm/humor/mocking is used in Scripture by numerous prophets/teachers, including Christ.
https://www.gotquestions.org/Bible-sarcasm.html
It depends on the context and how it was used. If it is used purely to tear down with no pedagogical purpose, I would say it is usually not constructive and can easily lead to sin
Understood. Like I said you haven't given any actual proof so I can't even begin to consider your recommendation.
Well no I need links. A voice call is not what is needed here
That would be great.
Blocking is not inherently disqualifying, depending on the context.
Ok so again, I would need links of Riley being "rude", "demeaning" etc. I don't see anything in the side discussion you had with your friend that would be disqualifying. To be honest I would have very similar concerns about Mike Winger, especially with regard to losing salvation. That is an enormous red flag.
Again, nothing inherently wrong with blocking, depending on the context.
Ok again, taking someone out of context is not grounds to wholly dismiss a person. I'm interested in your claims that Riley is rude and demeaning on a regular basis.
Otherwise I think this is an exercise in futility
I don't have time to watch all these videos. I do notice he is speaking in a slightly sarcastic way to highlight the absurdity of certain things. I take no issue with that and I see that done in Scripture as well.
I have to go for a while
Looks like he is Orthodox so he wouldn't be on our radar.
Ok yeah either way. He's non-Protestant to not someone we would know about or be within our scope of concern.
That's fine. I really can't have these sort of super long conversations. Unless you have some proof of clearly egregious behavior, I'm going to have to back out of this exchange.
Appreciate it but no that needs to go through the leadership team.
Sure
Not sure exactly what you are saying here, but Scripture instructs the church to call out false teachers. The purpose of this thread is not to "disparage" anyone, but to protect believers from wolves as instructed by Christ and the apostles. So we will do that, but seek to do it in a respectful way. Any by 'false teacher' we primarily mean those who teach a false Gospel or teach doctrine that is so divorced from biblical truth that it will inevitably cause a Christian to significantly stumble or a non-believer to not hear the Gospel at all.
If you'd like to read more about this biblical teaching, I've posted a good article on this below.

Wow even the infamous Mark Driscoll has found his way into the circle of these delusionals.

Do you each have rights to edit the list? If so, feel free to just start adding more.
Well no I want to keep the list all together
Ok thanks. Discord needs a wiki-like feature
Reddit has wiki feature only usable by those with editing perms. Something like that.
Yeah I actually thought about this. Not a bad idea.
I've gone back and forth on this a few times this morning. I like the idea of the whole community participating in this, so as a middle-of-the-road solution, I'm moving this out of the general forum and into an #official-resources forum where mods can post and everyone else can comment. So this post has been officially moved here: https://discord.com/channels/932986569902673950/1180863564773339256
Sure and I guess close it too so people don't get confused.
