Pokémon Auction Tournament Format
Overview
This tournament will use an auction draft format. Each player will build a team of 8 Pokémon by bidding on Pokémon during the auction.
Every participant starts with 2,000 auction points to spend. Once a Pokémon is won in the auction, it cannot be drafted by anyone else.
Building a strong team while managing your budget will be key to success.
Team Building Rules
- Each player starts with 2,000 points.
- Each player must draft 8 Pokémon.
- Each player may draft a maximum of 1 Uber Pokémon.
- No duplicate Pokémon are allowed.
- Teams are locked after the auction is completed.
Uber Pokémon
The following Pokémon are considered Ubers:
- Miraidon
- Koraidon
- Zacian-Crowned
- Necrozma-Dusk-Mane
- Kyogre
- Groudon
- Eternatus
- Ho-Oh
Each player may only have one Pokémon from this list on their roster.
Auction Format
- Players will take turns nominating Pokémon.
- The nominated Pokémon will begin at its listed starting bid.
- Players may bid against each other using their auction points.
- When bidding ends, the highest bidder wins the Pokémon and pays the final bid amount.
- The process continues until every player has drafted 8 Pokémon.
Bidding Rules
- Minimum bid increase: 25 points.
- Players cannot bid more points than they currently have.
- Players must always keep enough points to fill the remaining spots on their roster.
Match Format
Each matchup will be a Best-of-3 series:
Battle 1
Battle 2
Battle 3 (If Necessary)
- If the series is tied 1-1, a coin flip will determine whether the deciding battle is:
- Singles, or
- Doubles
The winner of the deciding battle wins the series.
Pokémon Usage
The same roster of 8 Pokémon will be used throughout the tournament.
Players may choose which Pokémon from their roster to bring to each battle, following the rules of the battle format being played.
