I wanted to make a team around my favourite pokemon, Dragonite. I have used dragonite in the past a lot during reg I, and a bit in reg M-A but I had never used mega dragonite.
Its a dual mega team with dragonite and delphox alongside a supporting cast of side characters... and tinkaton.
I want help and feedback generally abt the team, especially in relation to mega dragonite and tinkaton. I think mega dragonite could do without protect but I ain't sure and I feel like mold breaker tinkaton would be rly funny as I could fake out farig but yet again I ain't sure.
This is both a prototype and an unserious team, but if I like how mega dragonite feels I might choose to make a less gimmicky team around it.
Tinkaton and Mamoswine on the same team is kinda awesome
I imagine the coverage is huge
Team looks really fun, i will test it and give some feedback
ive seen a lot of fun play with scarf mamoswine
may think abt swapping it
One obv issue that I am noticing while playing some games is that dragonite's damage output is a bit lacking
So another damage dealing move would be useful
Thats not extreme speed
I notice same issue when I play him
Uhh hmmm mixed attacking
Mixed attacking EVs is the issue I think maybe ?
The other mega dragonites on pikalytics either have more varied move pools or use draco meteor
My idea is to maybe try dragon pulse, draco meteor, extreme speed tailwind, or perhaps use dragon claw/scale shot so that after a dracometeor dragonite can still hit decently hard
Ya so I changed the dragonite to use draco meteor, thunderbolt, dragon claw, tailwind
So it can be used more easily outside of its mega when necessary and can still do decent damage after a draco meteor
Do they have varied move pools but still commit to like special if it’s varied ?
Because it’s just a quick attack on his kinda high spa
Some habe extreme speed, but aside from that all their moves are special usually
Most non-rain dragonites seem to be running draco meteor
Yeah and usually his hurricane and stuff hit like a rock
I think it’s got not enough spa maybe
Ya, the two ones I could find with sun rather than rain had draco meteor a coverage move like thunderbold and flamethrower and extreme speed
My idea is to thunderbolt and dragon claw, then if I need to ohko something I will draco meteor and use dragon claw afterwards to do decent but not insane damage or draco meteor again if I need even more
question OP, If you had to tier how excited or how much you liked each pokemon in this team where would each one land from 1st to 6th?
Dragonite, Tinkaton, Delphox, Tauros aqua, Mamoswine, Sinistcha is my ordering
I do not like sinistcha but without it, the trick room matchup is basically an auto lose
If I used scarf, what move should I use over ice shard?
Crash or sprear?
Rock side is fun
High horse power and earthquake
icicle crash
is the good one
I think that you can just replace tauros, tinkaton and sinistcha with sneasler, kingambit and tsareena but that is a hell lot less funny
This what it look like with those meta picks - https://pokepast.es/b959bea1011bb355
Sry I used the wrong abilities on dragonite and mamoswine - https://pokepast.es/eec70368e2eed36d
I mean you can use oblivious but at some point you have way too many anti-intimidate tools
Without tauros, both the sun and rain matchups do become more difficult tho
As such I changed the team to make mamoswine bulky enough to survive a max spa, spa boosting nature heatwave from full hp so it can kill charizard back
