Hi there! Just to head off future comments, yes I know ghost monotype aint gonna get me to champion tier but I just love playing monotype and feel like I could be doing better. Secondly: ~~please dont bully me for using basculegion its my only water/ghost option 😭~~
Team: https://pokepast.es/e711046d1b7d344c
Skeledirge: Good wall pokemon and can take alot of hits. Good for switching into when I need to take damage but can also build up to a steam roll if I need. Believe it or not without rain this dude can take mega gyrados. Goes very well with trick room but its not needed to succeed it feels
Sinistcha: Team healer, also my secondary trick room setter. Able to keep itself alive and heal teammates (mainly runerigus)
Runerigus: Trick room setter, opens if I dont open with Mimikyu and can take hits while setting up trick room, able to do some damage itself as well with body press. Honestly I feel like he could do with a better item but champions be lacking in items rn.
Mimikyu: The dude who got me to great ball tier solo pretty much. Other opener. Hits hard and always gets a free swords dance. I keep Sneak so I can always have priority if speed isnt looking good, and drain punch for coverage/minor healing.
Gengar: Honesty im having alot of trouble with gengar, I mainly have him so I can have a base speedy mon without having to worry about trick room being up or not, but honestly I feel like I could utilize better/switch him out. Tried the perish song/protect route with him but it felt bad having my only strategy being self sacrifice when I feel like he could be geared towards offense.
Basculegion: I SWEAR HES FOR WATER TYPE COVERAGE I SWEAR but wouldnt mind switching him out tbh it feels cheap whenever I go the last respects route but idk.
Ideas: I kind of feel like i could lean more into trick room? As of right now only the first 3 really work well with it but with so much tailwind usage I feel like if im not using tw I need to use trick room.
Other mons I have readily available (but open to suggestions ofc):
Ceruledge
Sableye
Gourgeist (listen ok ive tried it and trick room trick or treat poltergeist can OHKO alot of things, or set up good)
Aegislash
H. Typhlosion
Golurk
Trevenant
Froslass
H. Zoroark
Chandelure
Cofarigus
- meaning I have expirience battling with the mon
Thanks in advance for any advice!
Hard to find a replacement for gengar
I guess if you committed more to trick room chandelure would appreciate this set up more
Any tips on how to run it? Never once have I played chandelure :>
Personally I’d run it quiet nature
Max spa and hp
Heatwave
Shadow all
Overheat as it’s like emergency delete button and I guess with protect
Some helping hands or sun on the team would help it heaps
channel
I have been laddering ghost as well as many other mono teams haha
If the ghost one isn't up yet I'll port it ik it's finished on cartridge and in showdown
I tend to play a more balance team than tr
But tw is also an option (dicidueye is ghost grass and learns it btw
Tysm for the tips! I'll def run it a few times and see how i feel
Love to see it when its posted! And ngl i dont know how i forgot about decidueye it could actually work really well hmmmmmm ill have to look into recruiting it.
Ah I forgot to post it haha give me a bit and I'll toss it up
No problem! Thanks for the help!
This is the mono ghost team I am laddering with

If there was one swap to make here, I would recommend taking out zoroark hisui

Or
https://pokepast.es/0cd5569c86c81b79
Either of those slot replacements will do
Ykw i dont know how i didnt consider dragapult 🤔 and I def still have one from sword I can move over. Thanks for the in depth tips! Def gonna try strength sap on sinistcha and your zoroark moveset and see how it goes
And good idea for the mimikyu item idk how I didnt consider it
I am kind of our in house ghost expert haha
Its for sure my favorite type
I run Zoro usually disguised as Gengar, but it can also have utility disguised as aegi or sinistcha
It's one of those mons that only works as well as your skill ceiling allows you to use it, I don't know the rank you're at so I figured I'd provide options haha
I for sure have alot to learn and honestly the main reason I havent been using it is because im having trouble utilizing it. However it really just needs to go on and i just need to learn the hard way how to use it🤣
Fair enough haha
If you send showdown replays here I am happy to help you analyze
Could you perhaps recommend me a replacement for rage powder on sinistcha? Good move but I play singles (which tbh should have mentioned) so idk how much utility id get. I'm thinking stun spore?
Shadow ball strength sap stun spore matcha gatcha would do fine
