I’ve been working on a Staraptor build that I can push to high MB (maybe even champion) with and put together a good showing in online tournaments. All the way up to MB 2 Raptor has really spoke to me. I seem to perform the best with his sets and I want to see how far I can push it.
I’ve taken some influence from the Glimmora build that’s been floating around as well as the sand team. I feel like Basc is a must have for this team and love pairing Basc with Kingambit. Where I have struggled the most is a 2nd mega to pair with Staraptor and maybe a 2nd support mon.
Basically I want to lock in Raptor, Basc, and Whimsicott but I am pretty flexible with the last 3.
I struggle the most with Trick Room and Rain teams. Trick Room is where the Taunt Incin comes in. Rain teams I tried Raichu Y, he just didn’t feel right because he’s more of a support mega at best use imo. I thought about Sinischa because he’s good for trick rook and for rain, but I wanted to sneak a fire type in the set.

for rain, maybe consider swapping sitrus for pasho so you can tank a rain/adaptibility wave crash from basculegion and swampert, and put 30 attack into incin to ohko basculegion maybe?
also taunt on incin i find unreliable into tr because usually the fake-outed mon is incin since it can hit most tr setters for super effective
for the rain matchup, your biggest worry may be peli
tr is the harder matchup
Yeah I’ve been leading with Incin and Gambit for TR and seems to be okay if they fake out Incin it’s like a 50/50 knockout for KingGambit. I also have liked Taunt for Raptor/Whim opponent leads. Taunt prevents the whim from encoring me into calm mind. But yeah I’m down to try some alerations
Which tr megas werw the worst match ups
incin is quite versatile this format
im assuming mawile
mawile doen't like incin though
If it's something like that you can abuse them with your own tr mega and sinistcha
with added attack you should be able to ohko mawile with flare blitz incin even after intimidate
- 1 doesn't kill it
From experience
Blastoise has been my most annoying but haven’t had too many matches with Incin or Floette. Water spout, aura sphere, and dark pulse murders my entire “slow portion” of the team haha

Blastoise/Giraffe is super underrated for TR imo I just hate being the dude that does TR lol
Did you ever play agains torkoal tr and scarf h typhlosion in the same 4
Than let them set it for you and punish them
If they don't you have others that can clean up

i don't think that kingmabit is carrying it's weight on this team specificlly

it might be worth considering sin with imprision over king
stops tr and heals staraptor after a few ccs
How did the floette fill for you
I don't think it's the best partner next to bird honestly
Even tho I don't like playing meta Delphox is the perfect partner gotta say
Metagross may be better, that leaves th problem of mainly physical attacks on this team
its one of the heatwave spammers here for sure
zard y, pyroar, or delphox
sin is also good next to delphox
It gets hurt but being the Bird it's not that much of a problem
Redirects as Delphox is quite frail
So locked in are whims basc and bird

I also am unsure how useful light screen is on this team
And if you are willing to try it you can even play their game let them trickroom and play in it with your own mega or we can try to deny it and you try and control the game

I think you are right that sini might be better than gambit and keep incin. Are we thinking a more offensive incin with like lariet?

Floette need one turn to set up and than she can take over different from staraptor

I’m thinking tea cup with Matcha, Life dew, rage powder, and trick room and then more offensive Incin. Still leaves rain a bit of a question but I don’t think Floette is necessarily bad into it

This is the team I tried to build that it makes sense
Incineroar is great for pivoting and slowing down opponents
Maus ape best combo by far for me as I had great success using it
The spreads and moves are probably not the best
It should have the calcs run and moves optimized but on my limited knowledge for lucario and prim had to do like this
I don’t necessarily have to cram both shinies in there. Just one would work.
Does prim and dnite work in a trick room team?
Prim works dnite is faster and it would appreciate tailwind more

I’m trying to decide. I could just get my Dragonite fix with the Staraptor build we did but that does leave me extremely weak to ice. Idk so many decisions
I'm always more comfortable playing my favorites over meta except sometimes it's inevitable
Yeah I’ve never used lucario or prim which is half my hesitation.
I'd honestly advise than to try teams on showdown before in champions as it servers as great practice
