I need help getting through Archaludon with this team, is there any way in which it can work with the current roster of Pokemon? Should I change up a Pokemon in order to support both my cores better? I'm unsure of Rotom is that good here. In short I need help finding a good mon to counter Archaludon which walls this team.

Mega glimmora

cleverinbox-49

I do have a way to deal with archaladon but it might sound kinda riddiculous

cleverinbox-49

Sinistcha

cleverinbox-49

I mean technically you can use frosslass but sinistcha is better for it

My first note unrelated to Archaludon is: Brave Bird will break your Sash. You could either go Dual Wingbeat or change the item to Sharp Beak maybe.

smartinbox-23

Now about Archie... has it really been this much of a pain? You sure are lacking super effective damage to it other than Earth Power, but you have some great neutral special attacks against it that should not worry about their Stamina boosts.

Also, you could use Trick on it to disrupt and remove Leftovers.

plaidforest-21 OP

I think Talonflame appreciates more survivability...? But sharp beak could also work

It's a pain when I'm fighting against rain teams tbf

smartinbox-23

I agree. I run Sash + Dual Wingbeat on mine

plaidforest-21 OP

I was considering using Aerodactyl instead as well

smartinbox-23

Definitely a great option

plaidforest-21 OP

I think like it or not I'd need a fighting type to get rid of

Archaludon

smartinbox-23

With a team of 5 special attackers full of neutral damage against it, I still believe you work around it

Fighting type move would still be amazing anyway for the Kingambits and Tyranitars too

I think this replay shows my issue with Arch rn

plaidforest-21 OP

Rain teams don't really allow me to bring Glimm and Rotom is weakened

@plaidforest-21 https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9championsvgc2026regma-2629655358
smartinbox-23

That might be a case of bringing both your megas - Glimm is strong without mega, earth power should do some good damage to Archie

smartinbox-23

And sludge bomb would be great against Scovillain

smartinbox-23

32 SpA Glimmora Earth Power vs. 28 HP / 31 SpD Archaludon: 108-128 (55.9 - 66.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

cleverinbox-49

Oh did I not clarify why sinistcha?

cleverinbox-49

Curse sinistcha while definetly uncommon is terrifying for setup pokemon like arch bcause it puts them on a countdown like with perish song, but you don't have to worry about your pokemon falling to thw counter

cleverinbox-49

Grass ghost makes sinistcha immune to rage powder and fake out, making it even more difficult to stop curse

cleverinbox-49

And with a sitrus berry and matcha gotcha you can heal up the lost health rly easily

smartinbox-23

This sounds NASTY

@cleverinbox-49 Oh did I not clarify why sinistcha?
plaidforest-21 OP

who should I put it in place of

cleverinbox-49

Farig maybe?

@cleverinbox-49 Farig maybe?
plaidforest-21 OP

I'll experiment with Farig
