I'm not talking about the typical comment section bots or the Twitter and Facebook boomer hate, I'm talking about a surge of full on "educated" Lebanese mostly living in Muslim gulf countries( 86% of christian lebanese would be under the poverty line if it wasnt for gulf region oppurtunities according to the latest reports) rashing and ridiculing Muslims on the internet as if it's a totally normal thing because we "deserve it".
The hate goes beyond political opinions, everything we do seems to trigger them, the way we practice our traditions, our cultural background, the way we dress, I even saw takes criticizing us just for observing our religious traditions and celebrating Eid😭

I noticed that it has been discussed here a lot that the word "zankha" "زنخة"
Has no english translation.
So I'm thinking what are other words that we use in lebanon that have no english translations.

There's this new Lebanese compnay that popped up on my IG feed multiple times. It's called Startex and they basically help Lebanese businesses get a stripe payment gateway by registering their company in the US.
I called them and had a 20 minute talk and they seemed legit and convincing, but I wanted to be sure they're legit and I'm not gonna get scammed. I'm a startup owner and I can't afford that right now lol.
If anyone knows anything about them or dealt with them before please shoot me a message or reply here.

Hey all, posting on behalf of someone.
"I am from the North, so have to apply to OEA Tripoli; I'm getting married next year to my fiance, who has to apply to OEA Beirut.
In order to avoid paying penalty starting Dec 2028, I will need to have all papers ready in 2027-2028.
I've been informed that after I get married, I will be able to apply to OEA Beirut only.
That brings the question: would you recommend that I apply to OEA Tripoli or to OEA Beirut? What are the pros and cons of each?
Based on what I have heard, these are the prices: (correct me if I'm wrong)
Registration:
Beirut -> $1140
Tripoli -> $2100
Yearly fees:
Beirut -> $650
Tripoli -> $500
"
TIA

I'm not talking about the typical comment section bots or the Twitter and Facebook boomer hate, I'm talking about a surge of full on "educated" people (mostly Arabs living in the West, including Lebanese) trashing and ridiculing Maronites and other Lebanese Christians on the internet as if it's totally normal thing because we "deserve it".
The hate goes beyond political opinions, everything we do seems to trigger them, the way we have Western names, the fact that we use French words in our everyday communication, the way we dress, I even saw takes about how we adopted western culture just because we put up Christmas trees on Christmas😭

Hi! I’ll be travelling around Lebanon for a few weeks, including quite a few smaller towns and villages, and I’m trying to understand how cash actually works in everyday life now.
- Roughly what percentage of everyday payments would you say are made in USD vs lira
- What kinds of things are normally priced/paid in LBP, and what things are normally paid in USD?
- Is there a rough price level below which people usually prefer LBP? For example, would you pay the equivalent of $1–5 in lira, but $20+ in dollars?
- Which USD denominations are actually useful? I assume $1, $5, $10 and $20 notes are useful, but what about $50 and $100?
- Is paying for something relatively cheap with a $100 bill considered annoying/unusual because getting change is difficult? At roughly what purchase value would using a 50 or $100 bill become reasonable?
Basically, I’m trying to work out what a sensible mix would be — e.g. lots of $1/$5/$10/$20 notes + some LBP, with $50/$100 mainly as backup.
Thanks!

Im a recent LAU graduate who studied IT management (MIS) and I've been trying to search for a well paying job in the tech industry. I did 2 internships one in cybersecurity and another in IT, and an honor student Ive experimented with LLMs (AI) and built so many tools (as much as my hardware allows me) I build few websites for cafés and retail stores(freelance)
I have tried all online job platforms, and asked referrals in many companies but rarely do they take fresh grads, and if they do they are asking me to work as an intern there.
So if you think you can help me I can work in a big range of fields from data analytics and ERP systems all the way to IOT automation and LLM integrations.

I heard that some people are putting octane boosters in their tanks because the benzin that we've been getting has lower octane than advertised apparently. have you tried this? do you know if it's really effective or if it would fuck up my engine?

I am a young adult who's been working for a few years, and I have accumulated \~10k usd in savings, they are mostly in a lebanese bank account under my name. I don't want to keep them there both because of the unreliability of banks here and the 0% interest rate (not) given by the bank, I don't want my savings to melt because of inflation. I also don't want a solution that involves physical storing of something (like cash or gold), I don't want to store/hide stuff where I live.
What are some solutions I should consider? I want something easy, safe and reliable to store them for a medium term.

I worked for several years in the public sector on a contract basis. About three years ago, my position was downgraded as part of an administrative decision. I asked for an explanation, but I never really got a clear answer.
I also wasn’t registered with " daman " , and no annual paid leaves and my salary was very low in USD.
Since leaving, I’ve been struggling to rebuild my career. I still haven’t found a decent private-sector opportunity that would make me feel like I’ve actually moved forward ,gaining new experience, developing professionally, and earning a reasonable salary.
I know that going back to the public sector probably isn’t the future I want, but unemployment is honestly exhausting. Sometimes I feel like all those years I spent working there were wasted, and that I’m still trying to catch up.

Saw this on TikTok. It should be a map on who actuallu controls Lebanon. So there's Israel in the south, Hezb in the south and Hezb in North East.
Hezb in the North East is what surprised me the most. I thought they were only in the south.

I use Alfa 4G for work cause I work remotely and my building won't allow me to setup fiber. I used to use Alfa 4G broadband for 2 years, and the wifi speeds were fine. It was around 30-50 mbps on average. I was paying 45usd for 111gb, and this would literally be just enough only for work.
I then found alfanet and it seems to be cheaper by 50%. I contacted customer support and asked the reps over at the alfa building in jounieh, all of them say there is no difference, and they don't go too much into detail. Well, it turns out there is a major difference in speed. It went from 30-50mbps to 5-15 mbps on average this month. I should've known. It was too good to be true.

Hey guys, IDM will be activating fiber optic subscriptions in my area soon, and wanted to ask you a couple questions:
I’m wondering if this is possible. If you are one of them, do you get paid considerably more than software engineers for Lebanese companies?
