Lebanese people make up only 54% of Lebanon’s population! While Syrians make 31% of the population!

2.1 million Syrians in Lebanon’s what is the ling term plan?

Lebanon has been hosting a very large Syrian population for years, while already dealing with a severe economic, political, and demographic crisis of its own. At this point, I think it is reasonable to ask.

Syria has undergone major political changes and many areas are now considered safer than they were during the height of the war. So what is the current plan regarding voluntary returns? Why does Lebanon still have such a large Syrian population, and what are the main obstacles preventing or delaying returns?

I understand that “Syria is free now, so everyone should immediately leave” is much more complicated than it sounds.

But that doesn’t justify the existence of 2.1 million Syrians in Lebanon!!!

Israeli propaganda ad on YouTube, what could “بعد يومين” mean🤨(Check body of post)

So I got this “Israeli propaganda” advert about the second anniversary of N*srallah's death, which they managed to slip through YouTube adverts (as always). But what caught my attention, though, was the “بعد يومين” said by one of the characters near the end of the video. Are they now hinting at something through ai generated slop?

I will never understand why people like Marcel Ghanem

I'm not a fan of Paula Yacoubian, but the fact that a person who hosts one of the largest political talk shows in Lebanon can say shit like this and not get immediately fired is insane to me.

All I can say is fuck him, fuck MTV for hosting this filth and I hope that he chokes on the bribes his billionaire friends pay him to say shit like this.

Shipping a phone from china

Hello, I am looking to import a Xiaomi phone from china, how much does it cost end to end if phone price in china is 1700$?

Like customs, shipping, etc...

Also does paying customs means that I don't need to enroll it later in network through Liban post?

If someone shipped a phone from china please share your experience

[OC] How much news does a conflict death get? Comparing UCDP deaths to international news coverage (June–August 2026), featuring Lebanon.

Saw this interesting chart on r/dataisbeautiful by u/KrishnaRT tracking how global conflicts show up in the news relative to actual casualties (using UCDP data and news articles from June 1 to August 31, 2026).

Lebanon sits above the median line here (getting higher news coverage per recorded death than countries like Sudan, Syria, or Somalia during this window). Thought it would be interesting to see what people here think about how media attention is distributed.

Municipality yearly fees

I had a rental lease for a house in Achrafieh, but I’ve just moved out. The landlord has copies of my ID and passport, and I signed the contract, but we never registered the lease with the municipality. She wanted to register it but never followed up with me.
Do I still have to pay municipal fees? If the house was still officially listed as vacant, would the amount be different? Otherwise and if there is no other way then how much would I owe based on an annual rent of $6,000, and what happens if I don’t pay?

Just found out that there were 3 Lebanese people registered in Antarctica for the 2022 elections

Context: In 2022, Lebanese citizens living abroad had the option to register overseas. If at least 200 Lebanese citizens were registered in a particular country, a delegation would be sent to enable them to vote from abroad. By reviewing the list of countries that failed to meet the registration quota, I discovered that three Lebanese citizens had registered from Adélie Land (a French territory in Antarctica). I found that funny because it shows that we really are everywhere ! Here is the list for those who are interested : https://elections.gov.lb/api//Media/802A2741-0DBC-41C7-B930-FDE1C2DFCA72.pdf

didn’t realize there were so many different accents

my mom’s family is from baalbek but she grew up in beirut, she’s who i learned most of my arabic from. my dad lived in Beirut for 11 years as well. my arabic is a little weird because i grew up in the west around a lot of different arabs so ive taken words and phrases from everyone at this point. i didn’t know a lot of the words i say might not be as common like until recently i didn’t realize other lebanese say “ana” instead of “ane”😭 ive literally never said ana in my life, my mom never says it either. my dad is iraqi but speaks lebanese arabic in the house, he would say ana but i always thought that was the southern iraqi accent coming out. about a year or two ago i went from saying ‏ تبعي to بتاعتي, not really sure why. i just started noticing more lebanese say that around me and my whole life i was saying the first one & decided to switch it up. my sister in law is pure baalbeki accent & hearing her talk is so interesting. she thinks its me making fun of her but i genuinely think it’s so interesting, i wish i could speak in the accent bc my origins are from there. i think the only accent that’s ever bothered me is the jnoubi one😗 nothing is wrong with it, i just know too many that annoy me based on my personal experiences so it left a bad taste in my mouth. which accent is considered to be the best in lebanon?

Looking for musicians to play with / form a band

Hi folks!

We’re currently looking for musicians to complete a band.

Style is mainly alternative rock / alternative pop, and we already have around 8 original songs written.

We’re looking for:

• Guitarist(s)
• Bassist
• Keyboardist

We mostly practice around Batroun / Tripoli, but we’re flexible with location if we find the right people.

Main thing we’re looking for is people who are genuinely interested in working on original music and can commit to practicing around once a week. Nothing overly intense, but we’d like to build something properly rather than just jam once or twice and disappear.

Here are a few demos/samples of the music (some without vocals):

DESIRE:

SHIVERS:

If this sounds like your thing, send me a DM. And if you know someone who might be interested, feel free to send this their way.

Thanks!!
