Little Daycare Sets Clear Rules Against Bullying

Краткое содержание

Little Daycare 🎃 reminds members that bullying or ganging up on others over emotes, GIFs, or stickers is unacceptable. The announcement distinguishes ordinary emote use from excessive spam and points to the slow-zone chat as a calmer place without animated emotes, GIFs, or images.

It has come to out attention again that people are being bullied and ganged up on for using an emote, ||:bop_cat: || Which is unacceptable no matter what. those who do it are making people feel extremely upset and unsafe which no matter the reason is NOT ok and will not be tolerated any longer. Especially since it hasn't just been the emote, people have also been ganged up on for gifs and stickers, this is unacceptable especially in this server where we will not tolerate people being bullied in chats.

I would like to start off with that someone using the emote is allowed, spamming it over and over may be something that we can ask "hey could you please not spam the emote in the chat" but SPAMMING is different! Spamming is > :cat_yippee_yay::cat_yippee_yay::cat_yippee_yay::cat_yippee_yay::cat_yippee_yay::cat_yippee_yay::cat_yippee_yay::cat_yippee_yay::cat_yippee_yay::cat_yippee_yay::cat_yippee_yay::cat_yippee_yay::cat_yippee_yay::cat_yippee_yay::cat_yippee_yay: (just an example emoji) over and over, not using it :cat_yippee_yay::cat_yippee_yay: like this or :cat_yippee_yay::cat_yippee_yay::cat_yippee_yay: or this, etc. someone just using it like any other emoji is not the same. Not only that, gifs, stickers, and anything else are ALLOWED in general chat and daycares.

Not only that, we have always had the #♫˚slow-zone-chat➛ which the whole purpose of is to get away from any chaos, animated emotes, gifs, images, etc. while still being able to chat without feeling possibly overwhelmed or be flashed by bright images, etc. Not only that we also have fun rooms you can move to and talk to friends, and for daycares we have babysitting rooms that you can use as well. These are meant to be used to help everyone, it isn't anyone's fault if you actively choose to not use them to your full advantage.

Lastly, there are accessibility settings for this reason, it isn't anyone's fault if you do not want to use them, that is your choice; they are meant to help you and support you while using discord but if you don't want to use them then that is again your choice. NO one is saying you shouldn't be able to enjoy discord like everyone else, BUT that is the whole point of these accessibility features, it is to be able to help people enjoy discord. (image attached for accessibility options) If you need help turning them on, you can let staff know and we can try to help you, but you should be able to look up "accessibility" in your discord settings and find it!

That being said, again, we have chats and places you can go to get away from gifts, emotes, images, etc. as explained/stated, and general chat specifically people are allowed to use emotes, gifs, images, etc as long as they aren't being extremely over used/actually spamming them. If staff see that people are actively continued to be bullied and dogpiled on making them feel unsafe there will from now on be consequences as it is unacceptable to bully someone no matter what and make them feel unsafe simply because they are using something to express themselves. No one is saying that you shouldn't be accommodated but there are many options that have been given to everyone so that you can have those accommodations and be able to use discord freely, it is not anyone's right to attack people just because they used a emote, or a sticker, or whatever. If you NEED staff to intervene on something, please use our staff ping @STAFF PING if there is ever something urgent that needs to be addressed.

Please treat people with kindness.
