Original Post

Maybe it’s day, or maybe it’s night,
Looking for a way to find words to write.
I’m in a cage that was made by me,
I call it comfort‘cause it’s not mine to keep.

There’s always a gap in all of my thoughts,
Something is missing, I seek out the clouds.
I am alone, but hold ocean and sky
Always enough to fill the gaps on the white.

Whenever we read a broken heart’s words,
Don’t we feel new to this whole world?
They don’t seek a word, they live in a lonely heart.
When we don’t feel the pain, they throw an empty art.

It felt like it held my hand, told me stories like a friend,
Talked of love lost, a world of dreams,
‘hold me, I don’t want this to end.’
Flowers on my lap, skies above my head,
I was ready to offer my heart to your empty hand.

You promised me you would never stop,
I’m a guest in your world, and it’s addictive.
Your letters seeking love,
my home is where you should drop, I begged you,
"Don’t unfold my held hand, Do poets not care for their words after they heal? You can’t just be… gone."

Then you healed, and the writing ceased.
I realized it was just a lie, a short-term release.
A beautiful lie for a temporary peace.
Now my world is empty,I gave it all away
Left broken by your words, just like you, yesterday.
