Pink Moon Photos — April 1 2026
Summary
Josh Universe - Space Discord Server shares photos of the pink Moon from April 1 2026 and an explanation of the effect. The announcement links to an Instagram post showing the horizon-lit Moon and explains how thicker atmosphere scatters blue light leaving pink red or orange hues. Great for discussion on lunar photography and atmospheric optics.

Photographs of the pink Moon of April 1st, 2026.
This effect is caused by the Moon being low on the horizon, its light passes through more of the Earth's atmosphere. This thicker air scatters blue light away and allows longer wavelengths, such as pink, red, or orange light, to pass through.
