maybe start w learning how pointers and basic memory management work

i mean i understand them, but not really why you would use them
mainly memory management
it allows u to use the same value instead of copying the object again
if that makes sense

and also learn smart pointers right after
they save a lot of hassle
just make sure to learn "raw" pointers too
cuz u'll have to use them sometimes (mainly for older c++/c code)

"garbage collection" as u're probably thinking of is usually automatic and not controlled by the user
smart pointers have better control
and raw pointers have the best control, but they can also be very easy to shoot urself in the foot w
just like the rest of c++ ;p

w smart pointers the memory can be freed when u want or it'll be freed automatically for u
and w "garbage collection" as most know it, the memory is freed automatically for u

I only did some simple web pages with html, css and javascript
if u're planning to go into websites i'd try to use a framework w typescript
makes things easier imo
but that's just me :3
