I have many tgirls friends and have had conversations like this with them; most said they consider "femboy" a problematic term. Their explanation was that when a feminine man presents himself as a femboy, he is usually accepted and even applauded by cis people (especially straight men), whereas when a trans girl tries the same thing, she ends up facing transphobia or being called a femboy—plus, the term originated from problematic sources. I really don't know where I stand on this, and I'm even afraid to use the term and end up sounding transphobic. What do you all think?

P.S.: I'm using a translator, so there might be a lot of errors.

Am fairly certain it used to be a pejorative term for trans women. That was wrong and still is wrong. It’s a good term for feminine boys, but should not be used to describe trans women.
