Airdrop Update and Community Notice

Currently, there is some anxiety and mixed feelings on the server. The claim portal is not showing correct data for some of our community members; we will have to wait a bit for everyone to check their allocations. We are sorry for this.

As we approach our exchange listing and Token Generation Event (TGE), I want to reach out to the community with this open letter to share our vision regarding the important matter of the airdrop.

First, what is an airdrop? An airdrop involves distributing free tokens that a project gives out voluntarily. We are not obligated to provide them; it is a gesture of goodwill. Web3 projects are not cash cows; they are businesses striving to grow and enter global markets. Of course, without the community, achieving success is almost impossible, so we must always find the right way to create incentives.

However, pleasing every single community member is impossible. If we reward a small group of users with large allocations, the majority of the community may feel dissatisfied. Conversely, if we reward many users with smaller allocations, our most loyal and long-term supporters might feel undervalued because their rewards seem too small. Therefore, we must strive to find a balance that satisfies as many interests as possible while protecting both the project and the community.

And now there is another challenge: today, automated systems for mass account creation and farming are incredibly advanced. Bots can mimic human behavior, scripts can automate entire campaigns, and entire farms have been built to exploit community rewards. Given this situation, identifying and rewarding real people - those who are active, supportive, and genuinely engaged - becomes extremely complex. Building a loyal community in such an environment requires consistent vigilance, human oversight, and difficult decisions.

Over the past nine months, with the help of our moderators and senior community members, we have closely monitored participation. When we took the snapshot of the final data, it turned out that more than 60% of entries were marked as bots or farmers. We excluded them from the final list in order to include as many genuine supporters as possible.

We cannot make this sensitive data public, as it would harm both the project and those receiving rewards. We regret if some genuine supporters were left out - tracking every individual across such a vast user base is extremely challenging. Nevertheless, we believe the decisions we made were the right ones, and the allocations are final and cannot be changed.

We understand that some may choose to leave, and bots and farmers will move on for other projects. However, for those genuine community members who remain loyal, we are preparing Community rewards Season II, which will feature more engaging opportunities and new rewards.

The TGE marks the beginning of Portal’s journey, and from here, everything starts anew.

Finally, I want to remind everyone that Web3 is not solely about chasing rewards or jumping from project to project. It is about believing in products that can genuinely change the world and having trust in the people behind them. It also means supporting a project in both its successes and struggles.

Our community is one of our most valued resources. We will always cherish it, listen to it, and strive to reward it. I am deeply grateful for your support and look forward to seeing you on our server as we continue to build Portal together.
