Torch/something that will light the whole tent

  • Sunscreen & after-sun lotion
  • Hats/caps & sunglasses
  • Extra socks (everyone always seems to run out!)
  • Bed sheets for the airbeds
  • Extra blankets (it can get surprisingly cold at night)
  • Towels (shower + beach)
  • Swimsuits & water shoes if you’re near a beach/lake
  • Reusable water bottles
  • Power bank & charging cables
  • Matches/lighter (plus a spare)
  • Washing-up liquid, sponge & tea towel
  • Bin bags
  • Kitchen roll/paper towels
  • Can opener & bottle opener
  • Salt, pepper, cooking oil and a few basic seasonings
  • Ice packs for the cooler
  • Rope/clothesline & pegs (great for drying towels and swimsuits)
  • Duct tape (you’d be surprised how often it comes in handy!)
  • Small broom & dustpan for the tent
  • Toilet paper (never rely on the campsite having enough!)
  • Laundry bag for dirty clothes
  • Folding chairs & a camping table if you don’t have them
  • Head torches (so much easier than holding a flashlight)
  • Glow sticks or clip-on lights for the kids at night
  • Phone number bracelets for younger children (I’ve had one when I was younger, my parents gave me one)
  • Beach toys, football, frisbee, cards, colouring books, bubbles, etc.
  • Easy meals/snacks for the first day if you don’t have time to shop beforehand (sandwiches, instant noodles, pasta, cereal, fruit, snacks, milk, tea/coffee)
  • Plenty of drinking water

One thing people often forget is a change of clothes and pyjamas in an easily accessible bag, so if you arrive late you don’t have to unpack the whole car before everyone can get settled.

Maybe it is not needed and all
But I thought that it could be helpful
Maybe something will be
I hope I didn’t repeat something someone already said
Hope it helps
