GCDC is opening.

After a lot of planning, designing, building, testing, breaking things, rebuilding them, and probably spending too much time thinking about Discord buttons.... Global Creative Design Community is finally ready to open its doors.

GCDC started as an idea for a place where creative people could share work, learn from each other, find collaborators, and simply have a community around design.

It has grown into something considerably bigger than that original idea. (I just wanted a server to talk, but it now looks a bit bigger...)

The server already has its first members, the visual identity is in place, the community systems are operational, and Athena / GCDC's custom community bot, is now handling a large part of the infrastructure behind the server.

Athena manages onboarding, profiles, levels and milestones, creative prompts, daily challenges, palettes, Artist Verification, Learning Hub submissions, reports, moderation, appeals, events, and eventually the Work Hub.

GCDC is still evolving. Some systems will change, new modules and projects will appear, and there is a lot more to build. The Work Hub, for example, is still under construction (but works I guess? (we need a lot of testing)).

But at this point, I think there is enough here to stop building in isolation and start building with people .

So this is the beginning.

You can be a part of GCDC at every step and in every place: as a staff member, curator, mentor, etc...
