⚔️ Counter Claiming

If land is already claimed by another nation, you may counterclaim it.

• A territory can only be counterclaimed once.
• Counterclaiming gives the original land owner permission to declare war on the counterclaiming nation.
• In general, the first nation to claim the land gets it.
• You cannot counterclaim another nation's core territory.

Example:
Germany claims Austria. Italy can counterclaim Austria from Germany, but Italy cannot counterclaim Austria from Austria itself.

🏛️ Historical & Fantasy Nations

For fantasy nations, core territories must be clearly defined.

For historical nations, cores will generally be based on:

• The largest modern-day nation within the former territory, or
• The country that led the former union/empire.

Examples:

• Yugoslavia → Serbia
• USSR → Russia

Counterclaim submissions should follow the same format and clearly identify the territory being counterclaimed.
