Help Building a Strong Singles Team

Summary

In Pokémon Champions a member asks for help building a better singles team and shares photos of their current lineup while stuck in Great Ball tiers. The announcement covers key suggestions: add Protects and more support moves, give Primarina Hyper Voice for Liquid Voice STAB, re-evaluate Garchomp ability and items, and consider a consistent sixth slot. This guidance helps community players improve matchups and climb ranks.

This is what I’m rocking with right now and I’m stuck between great ball tier 3 and 4 and can’t seem to progress lol (this is my first time playing competitively as well!) also can’t decide on a 6th mon so I’ve been experimenting and switching out

I'm new to VGC but not to competitive, currently in Great Ball 2.

First thing off the bat I see is you only have Protect on one mon, and most of your guys have 4 attacking moves. You really should consider more Support attacks.

Primarina really should have Hyper Voice. Its ability Liquid Voice turns it from Normal type to Water type with STAB, and it hits both of your opponents.

We can't see your items, are you running Mega Garchomp? If not, maybe consider changing its ability since you're not running a Sand team. Rough Skin will let you do 1/8th damage to your opponent on contact moves. Honestly you should probably do this regardless, chances are that'll occur more often than benefitting from your opponent's Sand.

Clefable -- you have a nature that's reducing your Defense while investing EVs into it. Change this nature to something that lowers Attack.

Actually you're doing the same thing with your Garchomp, go with a Special Attack reducing nature for Garchomp.

Unless you're running Trick Room, generally you don't want to lower your own speed. Greninja, Snorlax, and Primarina's natures all are lowering their speed. Switch these natures to something lowering their unused attacking stat.

I edited my comment a second time regarding my comment about Protect, sorry I misread which format you were using

Thank you I’ll try this stuff out in a sec and see how it works! You should try out primarina when you can especially since I’ve seen a lot of dragon/ground and really just ground types in general it covers a good bit of typings from what I’ve experienced so far as for garchomp tho I’m running quick claw or whatever it is to make him faster I’m not currently using any megas

on my Sun team I've had my fair share of problems with Primarina lol, in VGC her Hyper Voice boosted by Liquid Voice is a pain to deal with.
