Summary

The Pokémon Champions | VGC Battles & Tournaments server explores a unique competitive strategy involving Belly Drum Charizard X paired with a Psych Up Metagross. This discussion analyzes the viability of using Indeedee-F for redirection and Sinistcha for recovery to support this high-risk win condition. Members are invited to refine this team build, weigh the pros and cons of the setup, and discuss alternatives like Dragon Dance to optimize performance in current VGC formats.

So I had this weird idea of putting bellydrum on zard(or zardx) then using psych up Metagross(I haven't researched about othermons).I think indedee and sinistcha would be good for this team.I need help building this team and how it should be played,it's cons and pros

The combo is legal, but I’d make Charizard the win condition and Psych Up a bonus, not something you have to land every game. Belly Drum costs half your max HP, and Charizardite X means no Sitrus Berry to recover it.

Indeedee-F’s Follow Me can buy the Drum turn; Sinistcha can help recover HP afterwards. Neither redirection move saves you from spread attacks. Start with Belly Drum / Flare Blitz / Dragon Claw / Protect on Zard X, then test whether you can safely attack after setting up. Normal Clear Body Metagross can copy the boost without taking your Mega slot. If that sequence keeps costing two attackers, Dragon Dance is the less demanding alternative.
