⚠️ Server Security Alert — A Lesson From a Fellow Community

Hey,

We recently learned that a friend's Discord server was compromised and effectively destroyed — likely due to over-trusting the wrong person with moderation access, possibly even someone from their own staff team. The damage was severe enough that the server couldn't recover.

This is a wake-up call for us. We're using this as an opportunity to review and tighten our own security here at FSD ETC

Effective immediately, staff and moderators should expect:
- A review of all current permission levels — access will be scaled back to only what's necessary for each role
- Stricter vetting before granting moderation or admin access to anyone new
- Increased monitoring of permission changes, role assignments, and audit logs
- Zero tolerance for misuse of granted access, regardless of rank or tenure

To our moderation team: the trust placed in you comes with responsibility. Any moderator found abusing their permissions, granting unauthorized access, or acting against the community's interest will face immediate removal and permanent ban — no exceptions.

We're not doing this because we suspect anyone specific — we're doing this because prevention is always better than dealing with a disaster after the fact. A server takes months to build and minutes to destroy.

Stay alert, stay accountable.
