I briefly mentioned some days ago I was in the process of creating comic/graded book frames.
I want some feedback on what you as a consumer would like to see in a product like this.
Things I want to include:
- Minor Personalization
- Possibly Modular
- LED lighting
There is no wrong answer . I’ve had similar discussions with comic vendors and enthusiasts but want to focus and produce a quality product that rivals what’s out there.
I’ve got other ideas but don’t want to just melting pot it and try to include everything, as that headache will be for another day.

First thought as an amateur carpenter was to make them out of wood
I found a company that makes very thin led rails that I think would suffice and not affect size of the overall frame
Think they are like half an inch
I’m looking at them now, the “modular” aspect as he puts it is interesting . I know it’s magnetic . Idk if I like the 2 part frame he’s got but the choice for logos and such is neat for customization
The LED I want to implement would either go along the sides of the frame or possibly an LED back
If done correctly it could work !

Unfortunately I may have too big of a list of features I’d like .
I’ve looked into led panels and matrix panels that can be programmed , I’d love to make each frame modular as well
I’ll tinker with my laser software and see if I could rough something out.
I’ll shoot for 3 on top and 3 frames below. Modular, and room for side led light strips. Thin as possible.
Room along the outside of the frame for some logos or comic names maybe?
For some customization I thought about some kind of embossed or inlay circle that may be placed in one of the corners

Was just another option if I couldn’t find a way to have something in the back
Possibly using magnets and some kind of connector to transition multiple frames , just word vomiting atm

Spit balling. Looked into those led tracks. Very cool.
My idea is Modular with magnetic connectors for 12v led power and aluminum 30* tracks. Angled toward the book. They are .25”, so those would fit in thin frame and illuminate from the sides. Adjustable brightness and colors.
Need to work out how a book would be loaded and stay in place still.

Heavy duty magnets around the frame to lock them together. Frame 1 & 4 would have wall mounts
Yea I was drawing out sizes vs what’s on the market today for “sleek” looks
It’s primarily just a slit at the top and you can move books as you want
I spent a good couple weeks investigating power for the lights or what have you, seems on avg a 5v power source would do just fine
