JUST IN: Gold slips as markets wait for the Fed’s September minutes.

A stronger dollar and elevated Treasury yields are putting pressure on gold today, while traders look to the Fed minutes for more clarity on the path for interest rates.

At the same time, structural demand remains strong. China’s central bank extended its gold-buying streak to 23 consecutive months, while LBMA delegates see gold reaching around $5,013 within the next year.

JUST IN: Gold slips as US Treasury yields hit 24-year highs.

A stronger dollar and rising bond yields are putting pressure on precious metals, with gold trading around $4,129 and silver near $60.69 this morning.

The setup is increasingly split: higher yields are weighing on gold, while weaker US jobs data has reduced expectations for an October Fed hike.

Two days to go in The First Mover Advantage, and positions are changing.

Since yesterday’s update, f3728c…7bfd has climbed from ninth to fourth in Overall Volume, reaching 1,828.17 USDST.

7d7e1c…6f6b has also moved up, from seventh to fifth overall and seventh to fourth in First Mover. Just 22.16 USDST in early volume now separates them from third place.

JUST IN: Gold moves higher as markets sharply scale back expectations for an October Fed rate hike.

Weaker U.S. jobs data pushed rate hike expectations lower, while precious metals moved higher as investors adjusted to a softer policy outlook.

Gold is once again trading at the center of the macro conversation, where interest rates, inflation expectations and safe-haven demand continue to shape price action.

The First Mover Advantage is past halfway. Here’s where the competition stands.

But First Mover is still close at the top. c1ee1e…bede follows with 976.95 USDST, a gap of just 121.77 USDST.

JUST IN: Iran says the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the US meets its conditions.

The continued standoff keeps energy supply and inflation risks elevated, while Iran’s currency has fallen to a new record low and local demand is shifting toward gold and foreign currencies as stores of value.

Gold is once again sitting at the intersection of geopolitical risk, currency instability and reserve demand.

Ethereum staking infrastructure is back in focus.

MetaMask is proactively exiting affected Ethereum validators after disclosing a security incident involving part of its infrastructure. The company says it has identified no immediate threat to MetaMask wallets and that its staking operations remain non-custodial.

Independent onchain analysis estimates that roughly 17,000 validators have entered the exit process, representing more than 500,000 ETH, while around 0.36 ETH in block-production rewards was redirected during the incident. MetaMask has not confirmed those figures.

The incident puts renewed attention on the operational security behind an increasingly important part of Ethereum’s economy.

Our next trading competition kicks off tomorrow, alongside a new round of updates across STRATO Odds.

We’ve expanded the market lineup, improved the platform experience and prepared more liquidity for the week ahead.

At launch, traders will be able to predict on new markets including BOOE, DOGE and Oil, alongside markets across Crypto, Commodities, Stocks and Wildcard.

One week. Five leaderboards.

The CrossMarket Circuit runs for 168 hours, from September 23 at 17:00 CEST to September 30 at 17:00 CEST.

Compete on the Overall leaderboard and four separate category boards: Crypto, Commodities, Stocks and Wildcard.

Every leaderboard has rewards, and you can place on a category board while still competing for the overall ranking.
