An unintended detour

Skylar was in the middle of escaping the police, managing to steal a motorboat as she drove it away towards this location since their patrols lost sight of where she was pretty quickly..yet another robbery a complete success and she can’t help but smile confidently at the bountiful bag of jewels and items she had taken.

(“They really need to kick it up a notch if they’re gonna stop me..19 and I’m STILL on the high road! Suck it aunt!”)

She would make sure that she was properly blocking off any water managing to splash into the boat, trying to avoid a bad day with today being such a nice outcome so far with all her endeavors. Now then, next thing on her to-do list is to decide what her next heist should be and post her current loot on social media {S}

Skylar wouldn’t even notice flint, just continuing on her way as she smiles and turns on some music, basically crushing through the zone without a care in the world!

She had all sorts of items..currency, gadgets, priceless relics and jewels..actually she also has some components on her. Could be— somewhat useful an endeavor to perhaps..try to ask her for some? But if he check social media, he might recognize her.. {S}

She finally looks over towards Cypher still in her boat as she slowed down near the shore, raising her brow. Just what in the world could some random want from her? A ride? Her stuff? Yeaaahh..no she’s not allowing either option with the current situation.

“No I’m not sharing if that’s what you were about to ask.”

Swift and immediate, there’s no way she’s sharing the spoils of her hard work! Not with some random anyways.. {S}

Skylar just stared at him with an expression that said quite a lot about her view of the situation.. {S}

She was just about to put the pedal to the floor again to get a move on.. {S}

She said this in a sarcastic tone, clearly having stolen it. Skylar would look to her phone, looking through some posts on Flicky since she was bored out her mind and it seemed like she could hide out here until the patrols die down..

“And what would it even matter to you? Not like it belongs to you..” {S}

She almost smirks, oh did she just hear that right? Now this might be something to poke at..but she’s not in the mood for attempting to rage bait right about now

“Oh sorry, can’t say that it’s mine either but I ain’t the one trying to ask for it…..”

She would look at Cypher, sizing him up basically for anything valulabe within a brief glance. Deciding to add one more item to her collection if she can..but nothing in particular catches her eyes before she rolls them dramatically as she grabs a pair of shades putting them on.

“Besides— not like any of it will be missed anyways! Far as I’m concerned, people do a poor job at keeping stuff if they actually want it so bad.” {S}

“….”

She ”calmly” reaches into the bag of items she has just grabbing out a standard issued G.U.N. Laser rifle..and promptly looks back towards Cypher

“I’d like my shades back.”

She’d toss Cypher’s back to him. Those he just took were her personal shades…her actual property.. {S}

“Those shades you so rudely grabbed from me are genuinely mine..give them back.”

Her grip to the gun is tight, even if it was grabbed from her hands she knows what to look out for now when it comes down to it. Though really all she wants is her damned shades back since it’s genuinely something she has from an old friend of hers. Though she’s not saying that out loud it’s clear they’re important to her.. {S}

“Damn right they are..”

She mumbled this as she caught the shades and put them back on, kicking her feet up as she put the rifle down at ease into her lap with the safety on— for a thief..she surprisingly seemed quite adept at operating the weapon. Especially since G.U.N. would never openly teach people how to use it..

But Skylar after her temper nearly broke, she’d calm down just letting out a tired sigh as she looks to Cypher with a bored expression as she set the gun aside underneath the console for the steering wheel as she rested on her elbow with her leg blocking the gun..

“Next time when you trade something ya barter first…what would you even want anyways?” {S}

“Oh I dunno, boredom, boredom, and— oh..would ya look at that personal problems that remain private.” {S}

“Call me what ya want, I’m getting paid and I’m getting what I want.”

Skylar stretches before standing up, she was wearing..roller skates? Well she’d roll over to the bag before digging inside of it, finding some documents she had neatly packed together..

“Plus you’re acting as if I’m the sole cause for evil when I could be the furthest thing from it…”

She’d open up the documents, reading through them as her eyes seemed to focus on the details within them. Her expression remained neutral and unchanged for a while before raising her brow. She could care far less for this whole conversation for whatever was in those documents.. {S}

“Friend, maybe something I wanna do in life. Still not telling you the exact reason because, none of ya business.”

She’d be flipping through pages within this document..her face still calm and confident while in her eyes, as her pupils dilated she seemed..annoyed.

“If I have to state a reason for every little thing I do I’d be more lost than the bull that had found its way into the glass China shop…” {S}

“You think a bull would just willingly go there?…My bet is that it tried to find something else and just, did not get the memo that was the way forward..maybe it looked for someone or something they cared for..”

She lazily replies though, it was..a surprisingly wise comment for someone that’s been so rude and sarcastic so far.

“Anywho, doesn’t matter. Just a stupid over analysis of a metaphor..”

She closes the document, putting them back into the bag.. {S}

Her ear twitches as she turns around to the sound of rushing water, her eyes widening

She grabs Cypher seemingly just about to drag him inside until she plants her other hand under his arm and pulling him to her shoulder

“-so get in the fucking boat!”

She then goes onto full on throwing him towards a seat to hang on tight to as she quickly and just slams the pedal as the motor boat practically launches ahead through the waters, her heart is already racing while the fire on her body sputters in response to her panic

(“Fuck fuck fuck fuck!— WHY did a tsunami have to happen NOW?!?!?”)

She is visibly shaken by the sight of a tsunami it seems..as any normal person, but..she’s more so afraid of it— deeply terrified by it..was she afraid of water?.. {S}

“Yeah no shit a normal boat wouldn’t make it! The fuck do you think I robbed G.U.N. for?!”

She would activate a switch as the motor slightly shifts, then blasts off at vastly faster speeds whilst she navigates it through some tight terrain due to the rushed start and a lack of proper routing.

(“Damn it Skylar!— Of course it’s you “lucky day” when there’s a god damned tsunami on the fucking horizon! Why couldn’t I have expected this any damned sooner?!”) {S}

“Just make sure not to make anything fall on us—“

She has to bank a turn hard to dodge a column — causing water to splash up as she hides herself under the window shivering as small amounts of it splash onto her. But she grits her teeth and fights through the pain as steam comes off her body. Just continuing to get through this place as fast as possible and get as far away from this damn tsunami as possible!

“And make it snappy!—“ {S}

She was not speaking just focusing on steering the boat as she basically was rushing the boat towards the otherside, finally breaking out to the other side of the island as she continued going away from the Tsunami

“Fuck!…I hate the damned water- it’s always stupid fucking water!”

She groans rubbing her face but never stopping as the tsunami was still making some distance quite fast..they’d have to keep moving for a while to be out of reach.

“Just turning on the GPS for some fucking landmass far enough..”

She grumbles as she was quickly typing in coordinates..she really seemed like a completely different person compared to earlier.. {S}

Her response to fear..seems to just be anger.. {S}

“Either way..I’m more worried about whatever destroyed—whatever kept that island afloat..”

She knows what the master emerald is, she just does not care to think about it for right now..focusing on getting as far from the tsunami as possible.. {S}

“Give or take from here? Hopefully not more than a day..”

She would be using the gps to line up the boat the proper direction after they had gotten further from the tsunami.. {S}

“I’m not willing to risk the boat flipping over- I had to jack the boosters on this thing to move this fast already..anymore and you’re looking for trouble.”

She— actually fixed up that function herself? She doesn’t seem like the tech savvy type so it’s..perplexing.

“Besides..not like a day is going to be the end of you..” {S}

“Before you go on to saying I’m tech smart..being smart about vehicles and technology are separate things..”

She scratches her head turning in her chair as she finally fixed something onto the pedal and turned on the auto balancing so the boat wouldn’t capsize before she came back to it..

“It’s not even much, if anyone even reads a manual they could do it on their own— unless they’re so illiterate they decide to blow the gasket instead…” {S}

“Do you think they’d keep the manual of a G.U.N. vehicle?…Of course I did.”

She’d be looking over her shoulder making sure they were still on course and adjusting the steering wheel accordingly.. {S}

“Whatever the case just get comfortable because we’ve gonna be moving for a while..”

She would turn back around going back to focusing on trying to get to saftey as her eyes briefly glanced back to the tsunami in the distance.. {S}
