Hello my children...
This server was created by myself and @Cloudy Tea. as an attempt to create a little cozy and casual 18+ community here on Discord. It's been a long time since I ran a server with the intention to get things buzzin and I kind of miss it! This announcement just serves to explain a little bit about what this server is gonna be about and some expectations to have around here. Keep in mind while this info may seem silly for only 4 people to read, this post serves to be a resource for other people in the future that may not know me or other server members as well.
1. Games?
Games on this server were chosen to be focused on Minecraft and Sky: Children of the Light. This obviously doesn't mean the server will play other games, but these are the main ones! If you have any other suggestions for cozy casual games to promote, let me know!
As of yesterday I began development of a Minecraft server that will remain online 24/7, hosted on my other PC. If you're feeling impatient feel free to add the ip speakeasymc.net to your server list and you'll be able to join as soon as I allow everyone to. The minecraft server will be vanilla 26.2 with plugins for ease of use and quality of life features. Since im hosting on my own machine and don't pay for squat, this also means I can spin up more than just one server. In the future there's a possibility I may run a second modded server but right now it is just an idea.
Minecraft role and section in the server will appear once construction is done.
2. Events?
Pretty soon after the server is finished (yall need more roles, emotes, and things to do in the server), I will start trying to run events on a regular basis. With the time I have, I can commit to one event per week. These would be things like watchparties, Jackbox nights, Cards Against Humanity, and other friendly things we can hang out and do in VC. Other events include but aren't limited to contests, show and tell, and other silly stuff to spend time doing on a weekend/evening.
3. Staff?
Right now me and @Cloudy Tea. are Admins, and @Chad Chaderson is a mod (currently doesnt have perms). None of that means anything because no staff are technically needed while there isn't really anything here to moderate. My main goal right now for the server is to grow it with enough people that gaming, events, and other silly stuff is possible. Once that happens, I will consider filling out the staff to handle things like chat moderation and hosting events. There is no current plan for what that looks like until more people join.
4. Promotion?
As said in the previous message, my main goal is to promote the server! I want to get as many people in here as possible while keeping everything friendly and chill. That means sharing by word of mouth, hanging out in the VCs, or inviting someone over are all super helpful. This server is currently listed on three different websites that use bumping to help our server rank higher in results. Clicking the bump this server link helps a ton to promote it. Partnerships with other servers (The Fam?) and collaborative events may happen in the near future to encourage more activity.
5. Policies?
This goes without saying but be respectful. This server is designed to be 18+ to encourage people to feel safe to speak their mind, but that does not mean you are allowed to do and say whatever you want without consequences. There will be a channel open for NSFW content if you want to post stuff there that you don't want in general chat, but hate speech, bullying, doxxing, and any other serious offences won't be tolerated.
