New Homestuck: Beyond Canon newspost about Patreon and update rate, https://homestuck2.com/news

• Update schedule: two updates October (so one coming soon), then one update a month (?!), might get increased as they get into the groove of things
• Patreon returns on October 30th (so you have a couple weeks to cancel if you don't want to automatically be charged)
• 5% of Patreon will be saved for [S] pages, albums, merch and other projects that require upfront money. Unknown why [S] pages would have a flow different from regular updates
• Any music made will have a fair split (seems like 100% to musicians minus operating costs? nice) instead of Hussie's hellish "70% What Pumpkin/30% musicians" ratio. James will reach out to the old music team and fan music groups, setting up some channels for that, whatever that means.
• Patreon exclusive content will only be exclusive for a few months, sounds like the same type of bonus content as before, barring the big bonus updates which are replaced by one-shot comics
• While James is being vague, MY OWN PERSONAL OPINION FROM READING THIS is that either Viz or What Pumpkin was siphoning a lot of money from the previous Patreon, instead of just the team, somehow. That's no longer happening.
• The original bonus update stories will be finished, and everything that matters will be addressed in the main, free story.

Overall incredibly awesome they're going into more detail, this kind of newspost is the gold standard.

Homestuck: Beyond Canon

An official continuation of Homestuck.

HOMESTUCK^2 UPDATE https://homestuck2.com/news
THE COMIC IS NOW SIMPLY "HOMESTUCK: BEYOND CANON" AND HEADED BY JAMES

Hi, James here. You may know me as someone who worked on music for Hiveswap. Maybe you know me from my awful social media posts. I also wrote a few things for Pesterquest. Now I am in charge of a new team of people inheriting everyone’s favorite webcomic franchise.

So. “Beyond Canon,” huh? As some of you may know, I’ve been trying to get some Homestuck projects off the ground. A few of those things saw some movement (I’m still crossing my fingers about those vinyls) and at some point I swore to some rosemary shippers that I’d make sure there was more content if we won an internet poll. Which we did. By a complete landslide. Absolutely fucking washed those clowns. Love wins.

About a year ago Andrew approached me with the idea of finishing the HS^2 story, (which was originally just called Homestuck: Beyond Canon) and after a few months of kicking ideas around and finding the right team of people we’re back baby. It feels great. I am genuinely so excited to show you the stuff we’ve been cookin’ up.

I know that the last thing anybody said about it is that it would be written in full and dropped all at once, but that was maybe a bit of wishful thinking. We’ve all been there. As time went on and people started moving on to new things, various opportunities and difficulties arose and ultimately plans changed. As such, the torch has been passed to me. 😎

Homestuck: Beyond Canon

An official continuation of Homestuck.

James Roach is asking the fandom for help with adding accessibility features to Homestuck (unclear whether he means the website or any new content, edit: seems he means both, and specifically quirks).

In particular, he wants to find fans that use screen readers and can talk to him about them. https://www.reddit.com/r/homestuck/comments/16i89xx/screen_readers_accessibility_etc/

I'm sorry all the news tend to be like this these days, but whatever:
Andrew Hussie's linktree has been wiped of all content, which included his endorsement of the Unofficial Homestuck Collection, and one of the few confirmations he was still involved in Hiveswap (James Roach just posted about Act 3 music though so that's still on).

Linktree. Make your link do more.

Hiveswap: ACT 3 is still having new tracks added (this also confirms the game is still in the works after the concept art reveal, which was a given for me, but maybe not for you) https://twitter.com/hamesatron/status/1616806205653147650 https://twitter.com/hamesatron/status/1616807580302733312 https://twitter.com/hamesatron/status/1616811577424084993

with act 3 and beyond im trying to branch out of my comfort zone and try different things and one of them is exploring new sounds instead of my old standby instruments and look im not saying the zun trumpet is part of that but its not not part of that

that all being said act 3 is going to have one of the most absurd clown anthems to date

Hiveswap Act 3 was just revealed with some concept art in a surprise stream https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdMMjyUFFmg, they claim this is the official project and not anything fanmade, and I can confirm they are official people, (edit as of ten minutes later, my belief is that this really is real, somehow) more information as it comes

a video about Homestuck

I semi-recently reached $1000/month on Patreon, so as promised, I made a video about Homestuck.

this video is not about the Homestuck fandom, any of the people who made Homestuck, any works of fiction in the Homestuck "franchise" other than Homestuck (2009-2016) itself, or Vriska. it's only about Homestuck.

the original artwork in this video w...

During late 2019 and most of 2020, Homestuck^2 was released. Before it got semi-permanently hiatused, there was a Patreon that could be joined, with wallpapers, commentary and sketches of the work-in-progress as a reward. Now that the Patreon is closed and confirmed inaccessible, this is the only way to access those rewards. Enjoy! Credit to <@!233017800854077441> for archival work, the 2020 Homestuck team for the content.
5/14 EDIT: Now has search, index and better performance all around.

Happy 4/13! Only thing to happen so far: the @ Homestuck account on Twitter deleted literally all their tweets, barring Hiveswap ACT 2 and generic stuff.

This means all mentions of Homestuck^2 are gone. Dunno if that means anything.

||Incidentally, remember when I said The Silence Mill's logo (company the game was made under) looked like guillotines? That's https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guillotine#Names_for_the_guillotine apparently right. A reference to the game's anticapitalist themes? ||

||(Hussie himself is a multimillionaire doing stuff like claiming 70% of profits from music he didn't make, so this is definitely self-parody)||
