i agree with you tbh. i understand that abortion is a complicated topic, and i know there are different circumstances that people go through, but i also believe that the baby shouldn't have to pay for something they had no choice in. the baby didn't choose to be conceived, and it's not their fault that they came into existence. i believe that every life has value, even before birth. at the same time, i think we should be able to discuss this topic respectfully because we may never fully understand what someone else is going through. having compassion for the mother doesn't mean we have to ignore the life developing inside her. for me, both deserve to be treated with humanity and compassion.

smartriver-13

There's one sane person in this discussion and that's you, cause i completely agree with you.

A person who’s giving birth should have the right to decide if they wanna give birth to another person or not

the english argument is kinda ironic tbh. english isnt the native language in france italy germany or portugal either. in countries like nigeria india and the philippines english is an official language. so assuming someone is from a so-called third world country based on their english is already a flawed assumption. using that assumption to dismiss their views is stereotyping. youre judging the person instead of engaging with what they actually said

rockymirror-97

the third world comment doesnt really help your case either. being from a developing country doesnt automatically mean someone is opposed to womens rights just as being from a developed country doesnt automatically make someone progressive and even if your assumption about their background were correct it still wouldnt prove their argument wrong. thats not how logic works

rockymirror-97

as for abortion no one is denying that women go through terrible situations. but telling someone to research why women get abortions doesnt actually answer the moral question. it explains the circumstances surrounding abortion such as r@$× poverty and medical complications but explaining why something happens isnt the same as establishing whether its morally right or wrong

rockymirror-97

bodily autonomy is important and so is the question of the moral status of a fetus. when those considerations conflict you need to explain why one should take priority over the other. highlighting womens suffering doesnt by itself settle the moral debate just as acknowledging fetal life doesnt automatically erase the struggles women face. both sides of the moral question need to be addressed if youre going to make a convincing argument

rockymirror-97

telling someone to come back after doing more research can also come across as dismissive when you havent actually engaged with their point. instead of addressing their position youre attacking their background questioning their knowledge or assuming they must be uninformed simply because they disagree with you. if your argument is strong it should stand on its own. you should be able to defend it by addressing what the other person actually says rather than relying on assumptions about who they are or where they come from

royalcactus-89

Sadly ur mom didnt have one

fairsummit-74

Honestly I get where your coming from but still it's their choice and some people don't have a choice of whether they get pregnant, life is unpredictable and scary, it shouldn't be a crime to have the choice of whether your ready to have a child or not.

fairsummit-74

But they technically aren't people

fairsummit-74

They don't even have a brain to feel pain it's basically just a cluster of cells

fairsummit-74

Is it technically murder if it isn't even a person?

fairsummit-74

Also what if the person is a teenager and the parents aren't okay with their child having a kid?

happycipher-51

Lowkey doesn't belong in that sentence.
