Anime Big 3 Debate: Is Bleach Really Top Tier?

The ending was a big let down lets be real here

Can we all agree Bleach is not in this convo

Not saying it’s bad, but it is not a big 3 anime

Dragon Ball and it’s continuations not being there as the best powerscaling anime is like saying Cats are man’s best friend

No one’s saying cats are mid but they’re clearly not in that category compared to the obvious choice

Dragon Ball also inspired literally all those though 😭

Influentially and culturally the impact of Dbz is beyond that of Bleach, that doesn’t make it a better anime immediately but saying bleach has a strong impact on modern anime is not the hill you want to die on when trying to prove the quality of the show

Are you then claiming that Bleach is the more direct inspiration?😭

I can see that considering the direct concepts the anime you mentioned borrowed, but in overall cultural impact, Dbz still comes out as the more impactful show I’d argue

Idk if I’d use that as the criteria for the anime big 3

If we’re taking the Title literally, the big 3 are the three big animes that people consider to be the face of the industry

One Piece obviously goes there, I’m not a huge fan personally but One Piece is so massive it’s hard to argue it doesn’t deserve to be called one of the three most recognizable faces of the industry

Yeah that’s a good definition, Bleach is not one of the animes dominating worldwide popularity or sales, I’m not gonna claim anything about the shonen rankings bc idk about those back then but it fails at the other criteria

Goku and subsequently Dbz are so iconic and popular throughout the world that it’s just not fitting to say Bleach is there in its place

I’m not even a huge Dbz fan, I think HxH is better and others, but I’d be crazy to claim those shows have more cultural impact and represent the industry as a whole better than Dbz
