This actually is a take from my transgender friend irl who shared with me that she only feels like a woman in western culture/beauty standards context. She said that with her body dysphoria and when she travelled to study in Africa, the womanly ideals/beauty standards didn’t speak to her. She felt like a westerner ofc, but she just felt like not a woman at all compared to the women there. It made her appreciate the biological aspect of women more and accept herself more as something that differs in the context of her own culture.

I just thought it was an interesting take to share/hear any thoughts.
