ahh but without empathy humans would not have come this far
these sort of emotions are what makes humans different
it helped us to be coperative and evolve as a society
so..without it we wouldnt have this level of societal development
but yea it does protect people from harsh truthes
So,it helps people heal, but it also prevents them from confronting the reality which can be harmful

We didn't build societies because we were all nice to each other
We did that because we knew that together we had a chance against other people

Humanity has lived for thousands of years without empathy
Empathy is just the result of a society so evolved that it starts thinking that anyone can be as evolved as they are
Hence they detach from reality, letting in wolves masked as sheeps
Who later kill those that can feel said empathy
Empathy doesn't prevent ppl from truth, it helps to keep ppl more grounded in understanding things which r going on
But it is sometimes used to not criticize people even in some obvious reasons
True but not every individual thing is the same, it depends on how ppl use empathy and includes other factors, for example ppl shouldn't separate it from logic or it causes negative issues like what u said (hope that makes sense)
I didn't understand that implication
empathy doesnt mean being nice to each other..its bout understanding others emotions and situations..and it did helped humans to be more coperative
Criticism should use empathy to understand the person's perspective but that doesn't mean ignoring logic, in some extreme cases where it's clear what they have said/ done as 'bad' then there isn't a need to use empathy
