When I was a little child, I used to ask my mom, “Mom, what is a true friend?”
She would gently smile and say, “I don't know, my child. One day, life will teach you what I cannot explain.”
Back then, I couldn't understand her words. But as I grew older, I watched people make promises and walk away. I learned that not everyone who laughs with you will stand beside you when you're crying.
And finally, life gave me the answer.
“A true friend is someone who comes looking for you when everyone else has left, who hears your silence when the world ignores your cries, and who stays when you have nothing left to offer but a broken heart.”
Today, my mom is no longer in this world, and I can never tell her what life has taught me.
But sometimes, I look up at the sky and whisper,
