I dont understand furries. People tend not to like things they dont understand. If someone could explain why people choose to act like animals (literally and/or otherwise), please do. Humans are the apex species. I dont see the need to devolve to something less.

Escapism may be a cause, but wouldnt desocializing by acting like an animal push it even worse? Its like cutting yourself because of mental troubles. It just makes it worse.

honestly? the definition of a furry means someone interested in anthropomorphs and animals. depends on how drastic. therians, as stated as the start of this post, actually feel and would identify as them. there's definitely a line between people who are weird, people who are furries/therians, and people who act weird as furries. it's honestly not my strong suit to talk about identities like this but dissing the whole is something i frown on
