Well every previous generation was a little harder then the upcoming generation so it happened that people worked on making life easy and now we are in a situation where we can't stand on our own two legs anymore.
Also the system does not let us- everything too expensive, high standards, unemployment(because we got taught wrong things that don't even provide jobs anymore lol).
And also not everyone wants to settle down too
