I joined Discord because I wanted to meet new people and have conversations. I honestly don’t care whether someone is a guy or a girl — I just want someone to talk to because I don’t really have any friends offline. I spend most of my time at home, so I thought Discord would be a good place to meet people and make some friends.
But whenever I message someone here, most of the time they just ignore me and don’t reply, especially guys.
So I decided to test something. I created a fake account with a girl’s name and profile picture, and then I noticed something really interesting. Suddenly, dozens of guys started messaging me. They talked to me, listened to me, and actually wanted to have conversations. 😂
I received around 10–20 DMs in just one day from different people, and most of them were guys. I was honestly just laughing while replying because the difference was so obvious.
It made me realize that, at least from my experience, a lot of people on Discord seem much more interested in talking to girls than simply making genuine friends.
That’s honestly one of the reasons I’m thinking about leaving Discord. I joined to meet people and make friends, not to feel ignored just because I’m a guy.
