If a child were raised in an absence of human influence, it would act inhuman. If raised with an animal, its likely to act like that animal. Human nature is not innate, so how do we know animals dont all share a similar consciousness, and if we do, how is the slaughter of an animal for consumption any different from taking another persons life? Our morality is greatly flawed by our limited understanding of other existing creatures, and it has been that way for most if not all of time. Is our ignorance as a species what makes us the dominant species? Our indifferent consumption being how we have grown to such large numbers?
Humans and animals are similar in terms of consciousness, as in we both know that we are alive. But animals dont have a sense of morality and they not have emotions in the same way we do. Thats what seperates us from animals. In other words we are batter than animals in almost every way which is why we are the dominant species on the planet. We did not become the dominant species because of our ignorance. we became the dominant species because of our superior knowledge and capacity to understand the world in which we live in, which is something animals cannot comprehend.
And the idea of if a human was raised among animals he will think like them. that is not entirely true. Maybe for the first couple years of his life he will but eventually that human will realise he is not like the animals he is surrounded by.
