Sometimes it feels like we don't actually get to choose what to think, say and do and that we've been made to believe that we do. What do u think.
Choice and free will feels like an illusion sometimes
Interesting
What is it
I've felt like this in certain situations in life
Where it feels like you are on rails kind of
Idk
Wydm by "sometimes"?
Explain me
I know what are you trying to say btw
Like it doesn't always feel like that, but certain events make it feel like there's no choice
Or limited choices
Like a multiple choice test, u only have a few options and u might not wanna choose any of them since none fit
So it is not a "free" choice, cuz iti s dpeneded on something
Yeah
So
I think that the expression "Free" is an illusion
And the choices are depended
Yh for me I'm not sure since at times it does feel like having freedom of choosing anything but other times it doesn't
Gimme an example
Could be smth like wanting to do a certain subject and having a goal for it or doing what ppl say u should do, technically u have a choice but if social pressure is enough then u don't actually have a choice and choosing what u wanna do is an illusion
If that makes sense
Like wanting to be an athlete but others say be a lawyer or smth
Cuz the choices are not free, the choices are depended by the people, simply
Somehow.
Yeah so 'free' isn't actually free
Ik
It may feel like it is free
But why did you chose the choice?
Because of the people
So this "Free" is turning into a illusion
Yeah
Bad things always seem to circle back to people it seems
I have another question
Even if you have free choices, for example, choosing mango juice or orange juice, what will you chose?
Wdym
I mean it's only two options
So technically it's still means having a choice
But it's kinda like being put in a box
Ig, idl
Got it
Yea
If you don't choose any of the options, it means those options are not free, because you did not even accept the options. So if you don't accept the options, it means that the options are not free to be chosen
Technically.
Getting a bit confused but yh basically that
Idk how to explain
It's fine I got the gist of it
If you have two free gates to reach a destination and you have the keys of the gates to open. Then when you go there to open, you see that the gates have no keyhole to insert the sky, so you can't open the door
So those gate are not "free"
Yeahh
Can you understand it?
Yh I did get it before too
It represents that the choices are not "free" because the person can't freely chose it because the choices are depended on something..
Yes we actually dont
They want controll
Yh exactly
We do have free will..but its just we are afraid to do some things
and most of the times
we dont have resources or anything like that to chose our own path
u can do anything right now and use ur free will
but u do have to face its consequences
so imo the consequences of our decisions are what that limits our free will
Ah yes

in the modern world our thinking is being exploited so we consume more. We will always have free will but we must avoid things that make us less in control. Avoid things like getting drunk, scrolling too much, corn, gambling. All those things affect your free will either by making you crave dopamine or just not being able to hold back your thoughts.
So we can basically lose control of our own free will depend I on what we do, great points
yes
thanks
I didn't think of it like that before
now, was i destined to post amongus twerk? or was it free will?
it was destined that you would use your free will to post it
destiny doesnt remove choice
We've been social conditioned for quite some time
