In what way would you say Lil B influenced mainstream?
So you would put this above any Kanye Album?
And you justify with what criteria?
Like beats? Lyrics? Message?
I wouldnt say that Lil B made people more confident to rap. There are way better examples like 50cent who gained popularity even before his first major-label deal.Aswell as Soulja Boy who used self made advertisements before Lil B‘s solo career even started to become major.
I‘m not saying Lil B didn’t influence it at all but he was just a part of a bigger movement started by other artist that showed people they don’t need a major-label deal or professional advertisement to start rapping and achieve something
So he contributes but doesn’t stand out in a way that makes him the face of it
