I've never been in an online relationship, but I don't think it is good to be in one. (It worked for some tho) First of all, the obvious one, y'all can't have physical touch and go on real life dates. Then, you are limited to get to know the person, which will create limerance. So when y'all eventually meet up, you will often meet a completely different person than u thought. On top of that, you can get groomed, scammed, gaslighted and everything. It can be really dangerous

My boyfriend and i met online. We were friends for years and started dating, then met shortly after.
I got very lucky in my situation. Id say 90% of the time its a bad idea for a lot of reasons. Neither of us went looking for a relationship online, we just ended up talking and clicked.
While its pretty normal to meet online these days, a 100% online relationship isnt real. It cant exist that way. Ive practically met my boyfriends whole family at this point. While were long distance for now, we see each other as often as we can.
Even being as lucky as i am now, i would never purposefully go looking for a relationship online. I think my relationship is a special, very lucky case.

I guess it really depends on the geographical distance and whether you two can be together IRL....while i think meeting people online could work, keeping that relationship online virtually has no chance of surviving... It's hard to even take a relationship online when you've never met your partner and on the off chance you two really got serious, not being together would lead to loneliness and that loneliness might lead to bitterness and ultimately end up making you two break apart.
Love itself isn't enough, it needs to be practical too.
