Some people would stop being religious if there were no heaven or hell,for them religion is strongly tied to ideas of reward, punishment, justice, or what happens after death,but I feel like a lot of people would still stay religious, because for them religion isn’t just about the afterlife , It could be like a moral framework or perhaps a way to feel connected to nature. In fact I think the greater question is “Is doing good only meaningful if there’s a reward or punishment attached?” Or perhaps what rlly justifies morality?
