CommunityOne Spark Upgrade & New Features Update

update for this week

  • Spark infra is upgraded
  • Added style checking for Spark
  • Added safety and security guardrail for Spark
  • Added new interface for spark dashboard
  • Spark multi agent vote is ready to push.

⚠️ Working on data migration from old spark to new spark.
⚠️ Adding back AI-Rules for Spark

We should be able to push the above this week.

There are two things left: our smart routing feature where we would alert a human when our bot doesn't know the answer + Discord knowledge sync. We've made good progress in terms of figuring out the specs and UI experience over the week. Here are some details:

Smart routing: we will automatically detect what your server is about and related keywords knowledges in order to determine what to route to you and how. This will be a premium feature only with a lower price tier.

For Discord knowledge sync: We will get up to 1000 (20 for free) knowledge bits. We will also understand the context, edit your response to make it more polished before you can opt in to feed your knowledge docs.

Finally, a majority of our upgrade will be available as either entirely free or free with a limited cap. That's mainly determined by the amount of AI calls to instruct our bots on what to do. But we plan to set a much much lower pricing tier for our premium version of spark.

CommunityOne Spark Update: Multi-Agent Mode

Update for this week.

(1) We are in the latter half of the Spark sprint. We have completed the refactoring and updating of the backend for Spark. Next week, you should see your configuration dashboard for Spark to be updated along with the feature push.

Ideally, we want to start pushing while continuing to improve it. However, no final decision has been made yet.

Some great news is that in addition to Discord knowledge digest and better chat style, we will allow you to set up Spark to talk or listen in multiple channels, each with different styles or whatever customizations that you want -- Multi-agent mode.

An obvious use case for multiple Spark instances behaving differently in various channels is Testing.

(2) We have yet to finalize the details on Discord knowledge digest and smart routing. We've reviewed some existing bot solutions in and outside of Discord, and they are all subpar, so we are conducting further experiments and investigations to find the right method to make it actually work and make it affordable.

(3) On the dashboard side, we've done some code refactoring to make our quest player stat page much faster. Sorry about the suffering, guys.

Finally, @Souls gave us a great idea on adding a search bar on top of the dashboard. Now that he mentions this, of course we have to do it since a search bar solves a lot of our problems.

And in case anyone missed it, @TheDave🥩🥃🎃✨ recommended us to check out tip.cc and we ended up writing a blog about them, in case you are interested: https://blog.communityone.io/constantly-airdrop-and-still-get-genune-disocrd-engagement-case-study-on-tip-cc-discord-tipping-bot/

CommunityOne Spark Sprint Update & New Features

We are week 3 of our Spark sprint. Not much update. We are pretty close to wrapping our Spark into microservices and are now evaluating the best models to use for our new round of updates.

We've added a couple more charts on the analytics side on the user engagement data, but we will do a bigger one-week sprint to provide role-base analytics.

You should see a new feature on our server listing page called "Listing" -- This is part of our efforts to bring a new version of Collab so that you can grow better

There are a fair number of bugs that have been reported over the past 2 weeks; we are also gonna use this opportunity to clear a lot of them. Thank you for being patient with us.

Finally, just wrapped up on our events for conensus, here's a picture up there. I think we are gonna start hosting discord events, around our bot and around community management, more details to come on that one!

ps: We've made a small changes on hype engine to allow people to win at most one item per week.

CommunityOne Updates: Spark Sprint & Consensus

Here's some updates for this week

  1. We are at week 2 of our Spark sprint. Mainly, we will continue to work on infrastructure and wrapping Spark as a microservice.

  2. We continue to work on a new version of the collab feature. You will also see a new, upgraded version of your dashboard home page. The idea is that you can understand what features we offer easily and decide what to enable or disable.

  3. After the spark sprint is over, we will do a mini upgrade to our analytics where we will offer engagement data based on Role.

Fianlly, we will be at Consensus this week, so if you are going, here's the two events that you can find us:

CommunityOne Update: Spark Microservice & Collab Revamp

Hey guys! Update for this week:

  1. We are week 1 into Spark sprint. Here's a bit more details:

🇦 Spark will be repackaged as a microservice, this means that once we are done, you can have the same spark with differnt knowledge doc on different channels, you can test spark on the dashboard etc and spark will respond much faster vs right now.

It's a great thing after we paid off our technical debt.

🇧 The rest of the features will be a lot faster to build once we upgrade our infra. That would take about a week.

🇨 In terms of model selection, we haven't made the final decisions, but we are likely to upgrade everyone from the current OpenAI solution. There are simply better models right now with a better retrieval algorithm.

  1. Collab: we are redoing a lot of UI and adding new features for Collab. See #┠🟣・bot-change-log on some of the UI changes that have been made. We will transition our collab feature into a "server listing" to allow you guys to cross discover and grow better.

  2. In light of recent events where some bots are taken off by Discord due to TOS violation, we decided to do better at communicating our privacy policy. Here are some updates:
    (a) At any point, you can click a button and delete all your data from our server. It is in your profile page on the dashboard. No need to email us, find us on discord. You are 100% in control of your data. (b) We don't have any proprietary AI model. We are a really good AI wrapper using the existing market solution. So we have never, and will never, use your data to train any AI model. Honestly, it is both expensive and meaningless to train your own custom AI for most companies (other than getting funding)

BTW, congrats @alvaron for winning the Baldur's Gate 3

CommunityOne Update: Spark Progress & Next Giveaway Vote

hey guys! Update for this week

  1. We are still fully charged on the new version of Spark. There have been some delays because we had to fix bugs here and there, but we should expect to work on Spark intensively this and next week.

  1. As you might have noticed, we are getting close to giving away our Baldur's Gate 3, and we are now asking you to vote on our next game. Also, feel free to refer your friends to vote on your favorite games.

  2. In terms of dashboard UI updates, this is a maintenance week where we aim to resolve as many legacy bugs as possible. If time permits, we will push another upgrade to the /servers page.

CommunityOne Pricing Updates & Spark Revamp Details

Updates for this week.

  1. Updates for pricing: we are starting to gradually adding a free and premium version of Hype Engine. It will be included in our current pricing structure.

  2. In addition, we will work to introduce a cheaper tier specifically for Spark. But there will be no pricing changes for our analytics.

  3. We are gonna adjust benefits for each tier as we roll out new features, but basically, we want to have a version for hobbiest who are managing their servers at a affordable price.

Here are some of the roadmaps:
1. Hype Engine Testing: We will allow you to test your custom quests before rolling out to the public.
2. Spark: We plan to launch some major revamp for spark, around better models, better conversation styles and also better knowledges managements.

Spark Updates Details:
1. This is going to be a multi-weeks updates with a lot of backend upgrade
2. First, we will make Spark chat better. We've heard your thoughts that you want Spark to talk in a way that is familar to your server, sometimes it's being funny, sometimes it's being detailed. etc etc. We wll also develop more tools to help you refine your custom prompt
3. Discord knowledge sync. This is also my personal most wanted feature! Allowing you to update spark knowledge while you are answering member's questions on Discord.
4. Better backend: This means that we will use better models for both free and paid tier. In addition, we will also increase model contaxt lengths, this means that our bots will remember more historical messages per conversations.

CommunityOne: Pricing, Quests & Support Updates

Update for this week:

  1. We will start testing our on-chain quests feature with a few projects in the second half of the week. Almost there.. almost there

  2. The most significant initiatives for this week will be around the new pricing structure. Here are some additional thoughts:
    (a) We will maintain the same pricing for all things analytics and add more features for analytics around this tier. (150/month).

(b) Our initial package (70/month) is outdated. It is too expensive and doesn't give out enough benefits vs the premium tier. So it is likely that the new pricing will be significantly cheaper & we will have a lot more premium features around Spark.

(c) We are gonna take a look at our Hype Engine and see if there are ways that we can help servers monetize. In other words, share our revenue with the server owners so that they can get boosted or just pay their mods. This is clearly super experimental.

(d) Finally, if there is no premium crown logo on the feature, we WILL NOT make these free features premium. So you don't need to expect any disruptions. We only add, we do not take away free stuff.

We will investigate these issues this week and get back on some thoughts.

  1. As you might have noticed from our dashboard, we implemented a chatbot support that connects to our Spark on Discord, going forward, you can continue to expect us to do better at support. This will extend to new features for Spark that everyone has been telling us to work on!!

:L4fox: Finally, we will investigate some cool side tools such as native language for our website and our configuration dashboard 🙂

CommunityOne Updates: Gitbook, Web3, & Support Revamp

hey guys! Here's what we pushed last week:

  • Spark is now integrated with Gitbook.
  • New round of analytics. including date range selectors and also we've been working on updating our backend again!

For this week:
1. We will push out features related to web3 tasks, specifically a way to check for staking and rewards users everyday. We are pretty much half way there.
2. Revamp on Support: We have decided to spend a significant amount of time updating help info on gitbook. Going forward, you can expect to get any info from our gitbook directly. We will also send out product related info so that you can always know what we are up to and check in if something peaks your interest.
3. As you can see from our new channnel: #┠💠・feature-update , please follow the related megathreads about our feature update for spark, analytics and hype engine. We will work closer with you guys on alpha features in the respective areas.

Overall, our goal for the next couple weeks is that if you need help, you can get it instantly and high quality. In addition, we will find a way to not only show you all the cool stuff that we are launching, but also give you suggestions on how to use it inside of your own servers.

CommunityOne GitBook Updated & New Game Announced

CommunityOne Updates: Rewards, Profiles & Analytics

Hey guys! Here's some updates:

:1G: Just fixed the reward page, you can go claim your rewards if you have any now

:2G: As you might notice that our profile page has changed and we've added a connection sections where you can integrate your email and ur wallet address.
We are planning to onboard more projects to use our API quests, and many of you are connected to many projects via wallet, having your wallet address means that we can track your on-chain tasks (specified by the projects) automatically.

Note that this is an alpha version right now! We will continue to work on the UI/UX.

:3G: We should be pushing out a new version of our analytics with custom date range in the next couple hours. You can now select a date range and get charts in this range. In addition, you will see custom quests analytics in this round of push.

:4Green: Focus for this week continues to be around web3 integration, including analytics and staking.

:5Green: We've made some small changes around how you can connect with steam. If your steam name is not correct, now you can directly go to your reward tab and update it for us!

CommunityOne Updates: SDK, Analytics & Web3

hey guys! Here's some update for this week:
- Just pushed out javascript/typescript npm: https://www.npmjs.com/package/communityone

To do
We will push out a new round of analytics, including analytics around custom quests and also a new view of our analytics where you can select a date range and see a list of summary charts. If you have a big team to report to, you can take a screenshot and directly paste it into your report.

Web3 integration: We will push out two features around web3 intergrations, mainly if you are in the web3 space, we will give you the option to connect your wallet with us so that we can track your quest progress without requiring you to log in via discord via the project website.

The second feature is staking. We will provide an automatic way to allow projects track on chain activities, such as purchasing and staking token, no API required.

More integrations. We are reworking a new version of your profile page to allow you to connect your steam account. We notice a lot of you having issues claiming the steam credits.

CommunityOne Updates: SDK, Analytics & Web3

CommunityOne Hype Engine: Custom Quests & SDKs

Hey guys! Happy St. Patrick's Day! Wanna give you guys a brief rundown on our new hype engine update:

:1G: You can now add custom quests to hype engine, basically anything that you want your members to do, such as checking website, signing up, connecting wallet, doing this quiz etc etc.

:2G: Specifically, there are 3 types of quests that you can do: (a) API quest, You can use our API to automatically check if someone has completed the quest, making the entire process 0 hassle. (b) Manual check. If you have ideas about getting members excited but don't necessarily have the developer's buy in, then you can setup a manually reviwed quest, when a user completes the quest, he will open up a ticket and then you can approve the quest. (c) Micro Survey. Any survey you want users to do (either in short answer or in single choice).

:3G: In terms of API quests, our Python SDK is out: https://pypi.org/project/communityone/
We will be adding Javascript today or tomorrow.

**If you have a language that you want us to make an SDK for, leave a message in #┠💬・general **

For those who are not very technical, having an SDK means that it will take exactly two lines for you to set up the whole thing and ONE line for us to start tracking.

:4Green: Some of these features will likely be premium after a month or two. However, if you are not commercial, such as streamers etc, we work something out to keep most of the features free for you.

:5Green: Finally, our updated gitbook is out: https://communityone.gitbook.io/communityone

For this week, here are some of our focus
:1G: We will add more improvements and adjustments to our quest systems as we use it at Communityone. I think there are a couple of things that we have to improve
:2G: We will work on wallet intergration to your user profile. -- Web3 Feature
:3G: We will work for non-api ways to verify onchain tasks such as buying token and staking -- web3 feature.

For a bit of long term roadmap, we are getting close to revamp our spark feature, If you have any feedback about spark, please give your comments in #┠💬・general

CommunityOne Adds AI Topic Guides and Quest Rewards

update for this week:

We've did a revamp on our quest system to better reward users based on the quality of their engagement. There are a lot of minor changes across the sytem, but we want to reward participation, but reward high quality participation even more.

As part of this new push, we are now allow our project to setup conversational guide so that their members will know what are the hot topics that can get them extra points. For example, I'd like some more discussion where people talk about our bot or how to build community slightly more often.

AI Topic Guide will be on freeplus and above for the next month before becoming a premium feature. If you are our free servers, you can set this up, adust and play around till next month.

Over the next couple days, we will revamp to make an automated system on rewards and gradually replacing the curren manual way of using #┗💝・claim-rewards-deleted

Over the next couple weeks, we will start building out infrastructure around custom quests, both automated via API and manual custom quests. If you have a product and want to better intergrate your discord with your product, please check out this deck for more details and reach out: https://docsend.com/view/nwkybytpp9a9hn4c

We will send out tthis week's reward soon 🙂

CommunityOne Adds Shops, Custom Roles & Items

hey ! Happy new year

Here's a recap on some new features that have been pushed out during the holidays:
:1G: We have replaced the premium nitro with the shops. So now users can redeem their points for nitro, steam wallet.
:2G: We also pushed out custom ROLES. You can now add custom roles, ie asking people to redeem their points to get an role.
:3G: Tomorrow, we will push out custom Items. You can put any items, and when users are redeeming this, then a ticket will open automatically and ur mods can take it from there
Image
:4Green: We will soon release a new version of our configuration dashboard. Speak peak above

About nitro giveaways
:1G: As some of you have noticed and pointed out, we have paused giving winners premium nitros for free servers but we will continue to give out free nitros to the no.1 winner on premium servers. This is mainly because the cost of Nitros are very high and we are replacing it with raffle tickets. Your odds for getting nitros via raffle tickets are pretty good right now.
:2G: Meanwhile, for those who are interested in playing and getting a nitro for sure, we will soon release a list of communities where you can get a premium nitros from us, along with what they do and their discord links. Those are usually servers that are using our premium features.
:3G: There is a possibility that we will bring the nitros back in the future, assuming that we've made some inroads into monetizations
