Hosting Game Servers on Hostinger VPS: A Guide

ملخص

This Hostinger community announcement explores the feasibility of using VPS plans for small-scale game hosting with the AMP panel. It clarifies how CPU credits impact performance and recommends KVM 4 plans for optimal stability when running game servers alongside databases and bots. The discussion also addresses dedicated IP availability and provides a promotional discount code for community members looking to start their own hosting projects.

Question for those who have VPS plans, would the VPS be enough for just small scale game hosting if I were to throw the AMP panel on or is the shared resources not to kind to that.

I would be looking at KVM4 or KVM 8 for this.

Along with that what about Dedicated IP's and their prices and if they can be added mid-plan.

Hey ! Sounds like a fun project :vps:

Short answer: yeah, a VPS handles AMP + a small game server just fine. The one thing I'd keep an eye on is CPU: each VPS gets its own vCPU and RAM, but CPU runs on credits, so a server that's busy 24/7 can burn through them and slow down. More on that here: CPU credits

With the game, bots and a couple of databases all sharing the box, I'd lean towards KVM 4 so you've got some breathing room. KVM 2 works too if the game stays small. Bots, MySQL and MongoDB all run fine alongside it: Discord bot guide

On IPs: every VPS comes with its own dedicated IPv4 + IPv6, but extra IPs can't be added on right now. If you ever need a separate IP, the way to go is a second VPS.
